If he takes a tune up 1 or 2 first then yes. That wiill let us know he actually had intentions to win like he did vs Kov.

Now if he just comes out the woodwork fighting the now #1 p4p fighter (imo) then hell nah. Everyone including me will look at this as just a cash in

          You don't know that.

What we do know is that both sides lied about the contract right up until it got leaked. We also know that Kovalev appeared to be without much strength and had to budget his energy just to make it through the tenth.

Why do you keep making excuses? Other than Golovkin, when is the last time Canelo just fought someone straight up with no special weight demands??

We did know that because gbp/top rank etc told reporters such as fat Dan that the fight had a next day weigh in.

Why must you hold Canelo to rediculous standards that even though hes giving up every advantage on paper to move up & the fight time was scheduled til after ufc he should let Kovalev go uninterrupted til he weighs in at heavyweight? Thats rediculous especially when so many crying now said Jacobs cheated ggg by "coming in as a supposed cw" a next morning weigh in is not cheating someone especially an ex ibf beltholder like Fat Dan says in the link.

Although Canelo Alvarez, who is moving up two weight divisions to 175 pounds, did not seek a catch weight for his light heavyweight world title challenge of Sergey Kovalev in an effort to drain him from his natural fighting weight, there is a rehydration clause in the contract, sources told ESPN. It requires both fighters to submit to a weight check on Saturday morning at which neither man can weigh more than 185 pounds, one source said. There are severe financial penalties if either man is over. Kovalev is used to weight checks on the morning of the fight from his days of holding the IBF title because that organization requires them.

Bivol... Beterbiev... who the f#ck are they, though? Know what I mean? As if beating those guys means something special.

                Andre Ward is Andre Ward.

Lots of past ATG's contend for Titles in their mid-30's and beyond:
                - Sugar Ray
                - Archie Moore
                - Bernard Hopkins
                - James Toney
                - Antonio Tarver
                - Joe Calzaghe
                - Sergio Martinez
                - Carl Froch
                - Golovkin

No, not if Ward fights him without tune ups. Otherwise it might be like Jeffries vs Johnson.
