    I always wanted to see

Canelo vs Spence in like 2021 or 22 but It don’t look like Spence plans on moving up anytime soon??? He can definitely make MW! And he talked about that fight.

There is no pound that doesn't fall under one division or another. Yeah, 169 lbs would fall within the LHW limits, but if you mandate it to be a fight to be at anything but the MAX limit, it's a Catchweight fight. Weather technically the Title is on the line or not, that's what it would be.
I’m not sure I understand what you’re saying.

You said Canelo vs Kovalev HAD to take place at 175lbs, and not a catchweight in order for the title to be on the line. I said no, that’s not true, Canelo could’ve demanded anything between 169lbs and 175lbs.

      What is your argument?

Well, what is a Catchweight? What does fighting at a Catchweight mean?

*those are real questions, not rhetorical*

But the bigger point is that whatever the case (whatever the technicalities would be), if Canelo demanded that Kovalev fight at any specific weight, then it would seriously undermind the TITLE/what the Title means.

A catchweight is a fight that takes place between weight limits.

If Canelo asked Kovalev to come down to 174lbs, that’s a catchweight.

Canelo called out Mayweather at a catchweight of 150lbs, but after some negotiating, the fight happened at a catchweight of 152lbs.

I'm regretting not including Jorge Masvidal as a potential opponent option.
