Canelo is being extremely optimistic if he thinks DAZN is going to fork out more money on top of their original deal. DAZN management recently stated that these inflated purses are coming to an end. Canelo's and to a lesser extent Golovkin's opponents are getting very good purses. I'm all for that but the well is getting dry. I don't see it happening. Frankly at this point the enthusiasm for a Canelo Golovkin rematch is waning. I'd rather see him rematch Derevyanchenko because he's the only guy that has a real claim to beating Golovkin. It looks like that's not likely to happen either. Whether Golovkin doesn't want to rematch Derev or its DAZN that doesn't want Golovkin to lose its just a puzzling business decision.

Lol. Canelo is getting $35m for his next fight; whether he fights Charlo, Saunders, Bubba, or whomever.
Parsing the translation, the Golovkin fight makes financial sense when it's worth more than what he's getting to do his regular work or when that's the only fight that gets him paid for work.
Alvarez has a list of at least 5 viable opponents that DAZN has said yes to, without Golovkin.
Unless DAZN puts something on top of the rate, Golovkin is stalled out to until early 2021, lol. If that.Comment

Yawn. I honestly think he got scurred from last fight after getting wobbled and wants G to age more. The excuses/reasons he gave so far are laughable:
"I already beat him easily and have nothing to prove" - mmm okay.
"He needs to get a belt" - cool, done.
"If it makes business sense" - well.. it's the most lucrative fight available to you and DAZN.. there's a reason why DAZN keeps pushing you there.
I think Canelo was happy to see G struggle with Derevyanchenko. He'll let G have another fight or two to make sure he's really faded and that struggle vs. SD wasn't a fluke, before saying "Ok now it makes sense".Comment

Stop it. I don’t want to see nor did I ever want a third fight. If you’ve followed boxing, boxers adapt in series, and Canelo is in his prime right now. A third fight would most likely end in a stoppage and Canelo won’t get credit for it.
The thing is though. DAZN now has the first Mexican Champion with 4 Divisions up to LHW. That’s a commodity in itself, and DAZN could easily give Canelo a double premium for a GGG fight if they insist. I don’t think DAZN would add a bonus or extra to his current contract, they would just pro-rate that fight and take a bigger chunk from his multi fight deal. For example Canelo could get $50million instead of his regular $34 for a third GGG fight.
Though I’m done with all that. We’re seeing greatness. Canelo should continue fighting Champions at all weights. He is at this stage.Comment

He may as well do the 3rd fight with ggg and finish the rivalry with a ko. He can't be stopped right now and ggg is ripe for the picking.Comment

Just so you guys know, accurately, Canelo was asked yet again by Mannix. Canelo did not say it makes business sense, the usual GBP translator said this in ring. What Canelo said, again, if “they” (DAZN) offer something lucrative, “present” or in Spanish “ofresen.” Canelo in the same interview with Mannix and the post fight press conference, Canelo states, “I’ve done 24 rounds with GGG and they told me to run it back and I beat him. Its no longer a challenge for me, but if they insist, (DAZN) has to give me something lucrative.
This is common sense Canelo is in legal review about his contract with DAZN and GBP.
The thread title is wrong. Just an FYiStop it. I don’t want to see nor did I ever want a third fight. If you’ve followed boxing, boxers adapt in series, and Canelo is in his prime right now. A third fight would most likely end in a stoppage and Canelo won’t get credit for it.

If you were Canelo, why in the world would you agree to reduce your future income when it should only increase after beating GGG in the third fight?! That's not how business works, Canelo wants a bigger piece of the pie. Can't blame him, but most importantly even I, a long term GGG fan, wouldn't bet on GGG if they fight in May. 38 y.o. GGG against prime Canelo, I don't see GGG winning this one. It's just age, not levels.Comment

The Ali Act has no provisions within the statute that regulates relations between a broadcasting platform and a fighter. It’s specifically geared towards fighters, promoters and managers. In a addition it doesn’t actually allow Congress the power to enforce these regulations, but instead it leaves the responsibility to individual states... that’s why boxing is a circusComment
