I hope Kov calls it a day. He's so fragile these days, doesn't have the stamina to last 12 anymore & doesnt seem to have the willingness to throw with bad intentions anymore.

The jab was working for him but he wasn't putting nothin behind it.

Credit to Nelo a very good win for first time at weight. Although I don't think first time at weight means much. I picked kovalev to win on points.
Nelo is sounding like a champ, he knew the end was coming? How did he know? He don't usually stop fighters if theyre good. Nelo wasn't having any of the idea he lost to GGG even in first fight. Like Nelo is a can do man. Nothing he cant do.

Canelo reminds me of a superior version of Arthur Abraham fighting in Germany in that he doesn't have to panic or go crazy looking to do damage as he knows as long as he isn't getting beat up he will be winning on the cards and it's very hard to beat up guys like these with excellent defence and chins. The can then fire hard late with their vaunted power on a less fresh opponent who has been doing all the throwing. He is the goods though, one of the very very best but kovalev needs to hang em up he looks so fugging fragile these last couple of years

I give Canelo a lot of credit for the ko win. Let's be honest though, Kovalev is damaged goods, he's done, and fought so tentatively, never throwing the right hand with bad intentions. Also, Beterbiev and Bivol, not to mention Smith, Plant, Charlo and Andrade will not be easy at all. Having said that, Canelo has some top skills and is also tough to beat.

Cnelo is right. Wrong game plan from the Kovalev team.
They were not going after a KO like he used to.
                They underestimated the Ginger's power.
Game plan should have been, "If I don't KO him first,
I'll get KO'ed. Why not go all out if I get clipped anyway?"
I mean Kov had that power, he should have used it in full force.

Canelo can push the envelope a bit further, but forget about heavyweight as some mentioned, would be crazy to take on Wilder and tall and slick Fury. Roy Jones started at middleweight and went up to heavyweight once, whereas Canelo started at welterweight if I'm not mistaken and then mostly at light middle.

If Canelo wants to risk first time in his life, go to Russia for Bivol or Beterbiev. That is something.

A predictable ending that was the probable outcome before the fight started, and you could see the coming as the fight progressed and Kov slowed down. Ward said it best when he said Canelo was fighting Kovalev, not the "krusher". Kovalev used to have a mean streak and go for kos, this guy last night was pitty patting in an attempt to conserve energy and wanted to touch gloves every 2 min. He's not durable and is especially not durable enough to have 2 tough fights within 10 weeks of each other.
