That version of kovalev was nothing like the version ward fought and he's probably not even top 5 at that weight. No snap in his punches even from round one, heavy on his feet. Even So, to me it looked similar to the golovkin fight, Canelo marching forward and getting jabbed all night but unlike golovkin, kovalevs not got a chin. Cards were a disgrace but that's to be expected. For the record beterbiev would demolish canelo but he doesn't fit the bill for a canelo opponent (he's in his prime). Call me a hater but guess truth hurts, even Morales said the same...
It was a good finish but lets face it,kovalev is way past his best...

BigDummyShow returns. How do you feel about how hype job Golovkins career turned out? Want to talk about how he's an ATG better than Hagler like you used to?

before u critisize canelo lets look at the history. roy jones opponent mike mccallum age was 39 and bhop was 37. old or not moving up is still a great challenge and poses risk. plus none of them opponents were the same caliber as kov. saying kov is not even top 5 at that weight is crazy.maybe slow but still world class. i think him and bivol will be a very good and competitive fight.Comment

Sho' yo right! This win means absolutely shit in the thick of things.
It reminded me, how when when Sugar Ray Leonard defeated Donny Lalonde for two title belts in a single night; Which included not only Lalonde's 175 lbs WBC title belt but the newly minted 168 lbs title belt, which Leonard won that night also and decided to keep back in 1988.
Every right thinking fan knows that Kovalev is well beyond his prime and physical peak; Which is why Canelo cowardly ass cherrypicked this fight in the first place.
He knew that Sergey was very weak, frail and vulnerable at this stage of his career to compete with him. Hell, Kov was damn near knocked out in his last fight by Anthony Yarde.
So that's why Alvarez got the result he wanted. I call this bullshit! I called it the moment the fight was announced.
I am not in the least bit impressed with this victory. I am just like Erik Morales. I don't like cowards either.Comment

I don't think it was fixed but kov isn't a great win at this point. He's half the fighter he was against ward .Comment
