The only suspect thing I saw was an overprotective ref who kept asking Canelo if he was okay after Kova did anything the slightest bit rough. Almost expected him to start asking Canelo if he was okay after he took a few shots
That looked staged as hell.

This is what Buddy McGirt does to every fighter he trains. He trains them to be extremely passive, never use their power, and he throws in the towel at the first sign of danger. Never gives his fighters a chance.
I knew Kovalev had no chance because he was with McGirt. Just the absolute worst game plan you could possibly conceive for this fight.
Even Kovalev said as much in the post fight interview. He doesn't have great stamina, why waste it all with pawing jabs?Comment

Nelo fought like a LHW and never let up. I'm sure Kov did not expect this.Yeah and because of the height difference Kov was struggling to land any jabs to the chest or below to try get Canelo to bring his hands down. His gaurd was really solid and wasnt for moving.
I hate it, but Nelo is the goods. I get that Kov was no longer the big beast he once was at 175 but Canelo aint no LightHeayweight. Respect where it is due.Comment

Bro....Kov was using his shoulder (same height as Nelo's head) as a weapon. Even Kov knew it.
Kov is lucky he was warned so many times and no deductions.Comment

To me, it looked like Kovalev hadn't fully recovered from his match against Yarde. Your body just doesn't heal as quickly at 36. Having said that, I still found it impressive that Canelo managed to knock him out like that.Comment

Broner said he was going to whoop Pac's ass
Mikey said he was going to whoop Spences ass
I'm sure everyone has a game plan until they step in the ring.Comment

Kovalev's punches seemed to have ZERO power. That was weird as hell.Comment
