Canelo gotta stopped actin like he's squeaky clean too. He signed with GBP while still signed to a totally different promoter, basically trying to phuck them over, and when you do sign to a promoter. They are paying you to fight, so technically you are suppose to fight who and when they say you're going to fight. Their job is to find you the most lucrative and winnable fights for you. That fight remains GGG III.

If you don't like your promoter then you should promote yourself, buy out of your contract or whatever. Not resign with GBP. As much of a bich Oscar is.. Canelo can't say he hasn't done a great job with his career. Dude made a guy that doesn't really even speak English a household name in America.

You don't understand this business, do you? Promoter is supposed to work for boxer, not other way around no matter how it was in the past or whoever tells you otherwise. Just like a lawyer who advises you what to do, works for you and not other way around even though you follow lawyer's advice. Promoter can advise boxer who to fight, but it is for boxer to agree to this or not. Practically, it does come down to relationship and boxer's understanding of who is really in control. And these days more and more boxers understand who the boss is. And it is not a promoter.

And, if anything, typically it is the broadcaster who pays the promoter and then promoter pays the fighter, unless it is agreed that broadcaster pays each directly what they are entitled to.

The true story, the Coppinger and others aren't reporting, is that the thing which really pissed off Canelo was Oscar borrowed his hair brush without Canelo's permission and returned it before Canelo knew it was missing.

The only way Canelo knew it was Oscar who borrowed his hair brush was because after Canelo brushed his hair, he smelled his hand and it smelled like doodoo.

Pissed off Canelo demanded to see the security footage, and what he saw horrified him to his core. Since then, it has been nothing but hard feelings and animosity between Canelo and Oscar.
