Stuff like this happens. Ali almost lost to that British guy, then Dundee allegedly tore Ali's glove so he can get a three to four minute rest because he was still very hurt after that knockdown. Sometimes you just get a break. Of course, nobody knows for sure if the Ali thing is true.

Henry Cooper won that fight by KO and the fight should be retroactively awarded to him. Clay-Ali had won three fights in a row by blatant cheating at that point - the two Liston travesties and then the Henry Cooper robbery. Clay-Ali should have been banned from boxing for life right then and there.

I recently watched a film of the Cooper-Clay fight #1 on ESPN. they spliced the tape so that there was no indication whatsoever of the length of time between the rounds, and they made no mention of it at all! Big Brother-style political correction of history!
