First boxing match you remember seeing?

    What was it?

And how did you end up becoming a boxing fan?

My first boxing match I seen was De La Hoya vs. Chavez.

I grew up in a family that loved having the fights. All the girls were going for Oscar and the guys rooting for Chavez.

After that I remember watching Tyson and Holyfield.

I been a boxing fan ever since.

    Tyson v Holyfield.
Think I was 15 at the time and me and my mates all pitched in to buy the PPV.

Mosley vs Vargas is the fight that most sticks out in my mind.

Should be interesting stories from you all.

Another nostalgic fight for me was Vargas and De La Hoya.

I remember I was in JR High and I bet one of the most popular girls in the school that De La Hoya would win. She said Vargas. I told her I’d De La Hoya wins then she gotta go out with me. Oscar whipped Vargas ass.

We started dating that same week, and she’s still one of my closest friends till this day. That was almost 20 years ago.

Terry Norris Vs Julian Jackson, I don't know how that horrific KO made me want to box

But least we forget our common bond of our 1st fights.

Mike Tyson on a New York ABC 7 show on a saturday afternoon in the late 80's. That was the first time I would ever see boxing and definitely not the last.

My family was dirt poor but we had a tv with the antennas and we could get channel 7, channel 11, and tv 55. Those were the f***in days.

It was a an Ali fight, I dont remember exactly because I was very young 5 or so but It was Jimmy Young or Ken Norton. I thought he lost whichever it was and I remember wondering why my grandpa liked Ali so much. He told me he was the greatest ever and I was thinking at the time how could this guy be the greatest, he lost. Now dont get you panties in a twist, go talk to 5 year old me if you have an issue.
