Lomachenko would prefer to unify the division rather that wait on Haney to fight some guy he signed to fight when he was the mandatory then fight a Haney, who has not done nothing of note in the division despite being there twice as long as Lomachenko and have 4 times as many fights in the division.
Lomachenko want to fight the best.
Haney is not the best.
Nothing but a paper champ.
Hope he fights someone with a pulse soon.
You can't unify the division if you drop the WBC belt.
Vasily Bumchenko had a close fight with this two time WBC loser Luke Campbell. Luke, like Bumchenko gets all the breaks ; this unearned opportunity reminds me of when Orlandoe Salido whooped Bumchenko in 2014 because the privileged euro-bum ( Bumchenko) got a immediate shot at the very same title ( WBO feather), despite taking a L.
Unfortunately for the 'Promoted' or dishonored, somehow now full WBC lightweight champion Devin Haney, he has little choice on the matter if he wants credibility as the legitimate WBC champ, as Haney vs. Campbell was initially the valid contest for the WBC 135 title, but again due to politics Bumchenko robbed Haney of the right.
Looks like all the crying and complaining by Eddie Hearn about the WBC's ruling to make Bumchenko the mandatory turned out well in the end.
You haven't left adolescence yet. You shouldn't be allowed on forums with adults.
“We didn’t hear nobody protesting, ‘Why can’t we just fight Devin Haney for this title?’” claims the elder Haney. “He wanted Lomachenko, right? So he got Lomachenko in his backyard. He showed Lomachenko was vulnerable, but he didn’t get in his ass like he should have, like he really wanted that mutha f---a.”
Elder Haney sounds like a real positive addition to the human race, 'wanted that mutha f---a.'. Shows no respect. Treats opponents like they are not human. Why don't you both go knock someone out in the street. That's the mentality of the losers who have no respect for other opponents or human kind for that matter. And this comes on the heels of Day dying. Unbelievable. You'd never hear lomachenko's dad or Loma calling Haney a mutha ****a. Just comments more in line with what has he actually done? Who has he actually fought?
Enough on that topic though. We know where Haney and his dad stand, if Haney Jr. at all is influenced by his father. The fact that Haney talks like a 15 year old says a lot about the influence his father has on him in not mentoring him on what it means to evolve as you grow older and reach adulthood. Name calling every other time he's called out Loma in the past two months. Just childish.
With that said, Loma never turned down Haney. Loma was quiet for a month an a half after his win over Campbell. He always takes the month after a fight off away from media to recoop and go fishing, out of the spotlight. He was resting and out of the media. His next focus though was not Haney. Why in the world does Haney think he supersedes the fourth belt? Loma was lined up to fight Commey earlier this year until Commey got hurt. That was always the next step after Campbell.
And the first time we've heard from Loma was after he was appointed franchise. And he said that two fights he'd like in 2020 besides the fourth belt is with Haney and with Tank.
Loma has been calling out Tank for two years now. But the bashers on here want to say Loma is ducking Haney? What about Tank avoiding Loma for two years? Well Loma just said it. He'd like to fight Haney after the fourth belt.
Now how this all plays out with Haney inheriting Loma's belt, I don't know. It's all a little weird for me and the highers that may be need to explain it well for me to digest it.
But to think the reason Arum chased it, if he is the one from Top Rank that asked for it, which no one knows for sure, was because Loma was afraid of Haney is lame. Who the **** has Haney fought? What's his resume that speaks of anything. Loma has mandatories with the other two belts he owns also. Unification, if that can be had now, was always next, not Haney.
If Haney were offered Franchise, or Tank was offered Franchise, you don't think in a heart beat that they wouldn't take it? But it goes to fighting cans out the door or asking for the top fighters out the door. One typical with 99% and the other atypical and start of a new trend. But you have to have the goods to back it up. Best amateur in the the history of boxing and two time Gold Medalist is the pedigree Loma came in with, what Arum was working with. Gary Russel in his third fight was crazy courageous and all on him to live up to his resume. Gary was undefeated and after the loss has been tearing it up every since too. Loma was an anomaly.
Typical approach to look good and maintain that perfect record:
