A big puncher could beat him. A great boxer with strength and power and legs for days could beat him.
Everyone is beatable, by elite opponents with perfect styles to beat them. But Beterbiev is as hard to beat as anyone. Deserves a top 3 P4P spot.
Hopefully Gvozdyk isn't hurt long term and a rematch can still happen down the line. This is 1 vs 2....

Beterbiev is far from unbeatable.
Every time he was knocked down they were flash knockdowns that came from him getting countered or being off balance
Fugh that , tell me what happened every time he was knocked down
Came back harder and stronger to ko every single guy
It’s Beterbiev Time
A Bivol might come close to beating him by riding Freedy Mercury’s bicycle
And even then .......

What about the fact that Gvozdyk kept turning his body and kept swinging his head down to Beterbiev’s midsection
Yes , will admit there were some shots to the back of the head but will say Gvozdyk kept turning his whole head ( obviously trying to avoid the shot ) and would end up getting it in the back
Beterbiev is just plain and simply rugged , never been considered a dirty fighter

Just from the little bit of him I have seen...I think OG would have been better served to not move as much, and instead throw and even reach/feint with the jab to try and create some distance and back AB up...the few times where I saw him do that, he was able to better control distance and forced AB to box neutral/on the back foot, for however brief it was...all the bouncing around and moving that OG was doing, imo it nullified a lot of his power because he wasn't sitting on his shots....also had to tire him out.
As talented/good as OG is, if he couldn't put much of a dent in AB with that gameplan, I am not sure who else could...I don't know a ton about Bivol but I just feel like if he employs a similar strategy and isn't really sitting on his punches, eventually AB will find his way inside, probably often, and Bivol will have to weather a heavy storm just to go 12 rounds.
I agree about Beterbiev being a very formidable opponent..he answered some unknowns about him in this recent fight and he really passed the question marks with rather high grades...now with good punch resistance/chin/stamina/ability to walk down top tier fighters (not just lower level guys), to go along with that pressure/power/inside game, he is just a long day of work for anyone right now.
Would not be a fun fight for anyone to take on lol...I would like to see someone with a good jab try and hold his ground and stick it on Beterbiev and see what happens...for that reason I would like to see Kov-Beterbiev really...though I can't imagine Kovalev winning that one/lasting 12 rounds...just a rough matchup for him after the first 4-6 rounds I think.

I will say with Kov's stamina issues and looking a little worn, and AB's apparent strong stamina, Kov would probably get KOed late there even if he won the early rounds, which I think is possible...would like to see them fight though.Last edited by Boxing_1013; 10-20-2019, 08:11 PM.
