Gvovdyk made his mark by knocking out the reigning champion and ending his career while beterbiev was knocking out a buncha stiffs and getting shaken up by the like of callum johnson.

How many objective boxing fans could have picked Beterbiev with confidence? The ones that did, Picked with their hearts and wishful thinking, threw a ball blindfolded from halfcourt and made it.

Gvovdyk victory was the logical pick but cong**** to the lucky ones lol

But after the fight, the whole forum and the legion of casuals have turned into Beterbiev's fans overnight, save for a few delusional ones who're riding Bivol's nuts, loool. Bunch of idiotic casuals and glory hunters.

Where are the real boxing minds on here?

People overrate these Ukrainians until they meet legit Russians that will beat them. If Glassiev had started boxing early with a solid amateur record like most Russians, he would've beaten Usyk as well. People forget Beterbiev beat Usyk in the amateurs at LHW but lost to him at HW. He also beat Kovalev in the amateurs. Gvozdyk rode the Ukrainian hype to get destroyed in the ring.

Russia made Cuba the bastion for amateur boxing and the same thing is happening in Uzbekistan right now. I expect Uzbeks to dominate professional boxing in the next few years once the killers they're churning out in the amateurs start turning pro.

Keep Bivol away from Beterbiev - he'll get knocked out clean. Battle of the Ruskis, but Beterbiev has a far better amateur pedigree and crazy power to take Bivol's head off.
100 percent. Now they're making the same mistake saying bivol would beat beterbiev. The reason gvozdyk beat stevenson is because stevenson like to keep lots of distance between him and his opponent waiting for the left hand. This plays into gvozdyk's style. Gvozdyk has been dropped twice by bums leading up to this fight and he gets very uncomfortable anytime anyone closes the distance. He needs lots of space to punch. I got beterbiev beating bivol.

Speaking of amateurs. Bivol never even made the national team. Beterbiev was a far more decorated amateur. Bivol goes 12 rds with guys beterbiev would smoke in 3.

Can you please provide proof of those "Gvozdyk destroys Beterbiev" threads.

We will wait. Because all I saw was some random people calling results like every other fight. This was a 50-50 all the time.
And the better man on the night won.

Your interpretation and comparison are wrong.

First of all, Julian Williams had faced Charlo and gave a good enough account of himself where we were able to better gauge his abilities. Styles makes fights and the classic boxer puncher more times than not beats the one dimensional slugger so it was an easy choice. Williams was the logical choice.

What variables did Govodyk-beterbiev have exactly given that gvovdyk is a well rounded champion and who has Beterbiev beaten for people to judge him by? Sure we knew that Beterbiev is a hard hitter but he has shown vulnerabilities against fringe contenders so picking him was not a logical choice.

Nah they're not wrong, you're just not understanding or choosing not to. Jrock was a MASSIVE underdog with the bookies, people who are professionals at gauging this stuff, no bias, no feelings etc involved etc. The bookies ended up being wrong and according to your logic dksab...think about that for a second.

Beterbiev vs Gvozdyk was an even match by all accounts, from the bookies, to fan perception, to media perception etc. A lot of people picked Beterbiev to win for various reasons, whatever the reasons were. How can you say people picked with their heart and were lucky lol? What because you got this one wrong?

You make no sense. Stay consistent and maybe learn to accept that you are not all knowing.
