I get the idea of being a fan if you’re a kid, I don’t understand why adults are this way.

This is a forum full of grown men who love other grown men. They hate grown men who oppose the grown men they love in a sport.

They also hate other grown men who have dissenting opinions about the grown men they love.

    Why?

I’ve narrowed it down to racism and nationalism.

Did I miss any other reasons for this insanity?
People like to root for people they can relate too, possibly also admire.
They feel like if the fighter wins, then they also win.

It’s the same in all sports.

This has to be the most ******ed thread ever, especially from a grown arse man who named himself after another man, lol.

Whatever team or player you support in any sport, you’re a fan of a grown arse man or men. So everyone is guilty.

Why do people do anything? Why did Oscar wear fishnets, why did Golota ballpunch so much? Human psychology isn't always normal and logical

Simple terms, people find sports entertaining, even more so when they root for a particular outcome rather than just as a neutral. If you are entertained by a fighters style it makes sense to want to see them go and do well with it rather than get knocked out, even if you don't care about them as a person.

Well, it's like with art dude. When you appreciate all that goes into a sport, the preparation, the competition, the strategies and the combat and then you see how it all plays out, you become a fan of the art form and the performers. That's how I feel about the sport

I like boxing. I couldn't make a living doing it so now I follow pro boxing on TV and I've been to several events as well. Occasionally a fighter will come along who deserves more attention due to performances and/or skills. How a fan determines which fighter to follow more closely could be similar to how someone chooses the color of their car. In other words there's no right or wrong way to choose a favorite. Some fans can go overboard in their allegiance, but the majority are mostly casual. There's nothing to fear or get angry about, Shane.

Are u daft brother? That stands for any sport not just boxing. Any athletics, team sport. In fact football fans are even more tribal and their teams and fans are of many races
