the only fighter in history to become undisputed champ at both cruiserweight and heavyweight. He lost to Bowe twice and most would argue he also lost to Lennox twice.
He only beat Tyson and Mercer. And Mercer wasn’t considered to be an elite boxer in that generation. He’s like the Dillian Whyte of this generation.
Take Tyson out and he didn’t beat anyone unless you want to count Bowe loss which is like Lennox’a loss to Rahman.
but posters like you seem to think thats nothing...hilariousComment

LOL. Nostalgia is a biitch.Really Tyson was overrated to an extent. He hurt himself by not dropping all those damn hanger on dudes when Cus passed away. Just not as overrated as you state. Holyfields resume is not mediocre dude. Compare their era to the era of these heavyweights. They would have Wilder on the florr in a ball. Fury would do the best. Joshua a little better than Bruno. Ruiz would be okay. Fury is a wild card in that era. Tell me who in this era could beat Lewis, Holyfield, Tyson, Bowe , even Ruddock consistently out of these fighters. Fury would have best shot because he is very slick.Comment

He had a 3 year run where I would put him up against any Heavyweight in history. The footwork, instincts, next level power were off the charts.
By the time he got to the Douglass fight he just wasn’t motivated anymore and was just headhunting in most fights. Hard to get up when you come from where he did and then go to making $30 million a fight in the late 80’s.
I’m not sure he is overrated. Anyone that watched him fight sees a guy that had an incredible start but was a shell of himself coming out of prison. He was just cashing checks after 1995.Comment

Read again. At HW, he was overrated despite the PED. He only beat Tyson and a good contender in Mercer. Lost twice to both Bowe and Lennox.Comment

You’re entitled to your opinion. That’s the same way they’re marketing Wilder with the narrative that he punches like a mule against bum. Tyson also looked great against bum but every time he stepped up, he got knocked out.He had a 3 year run where I would put him up against any Heavyweight in history. The footwork, instincts, next level power were off the charts.
