I've heard Kathy Duva, Oscar & now Canelo say other interests involved stopped that fight and made this fight hard to make.


So who stopped Canelo vs. Kovalev for September?

Well, the Yade thing obviously. I also think DAZN aren't happy that they overpaid Canelo, THEN overpaid GG to fight Canelo, and Canelo don't wanna play ball anymore. I don't believe Canelo one bit when he says DAZN didn't push for him to fight GG. I think you'd have to be an idiot to believe that. As reckless as DAZN is, I can't think they're THAT incompetent not to try to keep things in order.

Ummm. Wasn't the fight initially offered at half the purse that Kovalev is most likely getting now. I think the initial offer was around 5 or 6 million dollars. With that Kovalev had to pay Yarde step aside, rumored to have to pay off foreign broadcasters and his trainer and promoter get a cut. Jacobs got about 12 million for Canelo so Kovalev most likely will get the same at a minimum. There is no mysterious unnamed entity that blocked that fight.
