Witherspoon only had one week's notice for the fight. He was bound to gas out, it was inevitable with such little preparation time. Usyk looked decent but not overly impressive against a C-level guy on a week's notice.

Too bad Witherspoon wasn't in his prime or even had a camp for this bout. I think a prime Witherspoon beats Usyk, back when he was 230 and conditioned. If he had a camp he easily goes 12.

People don't realize how big these super heavies are and how difficult it is fighting them. Usyk will be another Adamek.

Why are ya'll criticizing Usyk's performance so much? The guy just made his heavyweight debut after his longest career layoff because of a surgery. Is it a bad thing if he was simply getting back into rhythm by getting some rounds in? People are nitpicking his performance. He won, and that's that. It's his first fight back from a long layoff with a surgically repaired shoulder.

Yeah it was unfair to Witherspoon really, not even having a proper training camp, but as a last minute replacement he did alot better than most people thought, with a proper training camp..likely a different story, if Chaz hadn't gassed out he likely would have gone the full rounds at least and whi knows what ould have happend later in the fight...just takes one punch from a HW.

That was easy enough to see but to be fair to Usyk, he had only begun to sit down on his punches and there were 5 rounds to go.
Looked to me like things went to plan. Usyk fought Witherspoon like a White Shark hunts a seal. Waiting till he’s too weak to fight before making the kill, which would almost certainly have happened within a round or 2.

Lol even before the fight he looks tired already. This is a typical pedicab driver hired to be a punching bag haha...

Usyk won't be another Adamek, or another Haye or Holyfield. He will be Usyk.

Um no version of Witherspoon beats Usyk!
You also mention Usyk being another Adamek. The same Adamek who beat a prime Cris Arreola (just 1 loss to Vitali), whom beat up a PRIME undefeated Witherspoon. Same Arreola who KO'd Seth Mitchel in 1, whom also KO'd Witherspoon.

Okay he can be forgiven for the Chazz sparring session.

Now lets see him against the likes of Takam, Oscar Rivas, Dominic Breazeale , Adam Kownacki , etc etc... fighters who are actually ambitious!

It sounds like Witherspoon said he’s not trying to criticize Usyk, doesn’t it?
As I posted, we can read what he says, we do not need the opening paragraph opinion piece stated as fact. Let Chazz's words speak for themselves, that's what I am saying.
