Ruiz maybe a "fat guy" but he is a good fighter with speed, skill and power.

      Witherspoon:

      38
      heaviest weight of career 242
same reach and height as Usyk

So he beat a guy his same size that is fat and old. Doesnt tell us much. Also if he really is going for Wilder, I dont think he should put on more weight, he is already the same weight as Wilder, but he will need his speed to fight a perfect fight and not get tagged with the right had over 12 rounds. Wilder almost stopped Fury in the 12th so Usyk needs to be on his toes for all 12 rounds. Him being heavier will just make him slower.

Maybe vs Ruiz or Fury it would make sense to put on weight. I really dont see how he beats Fury. I actually dont see him beating any of the top 4.

I'm not mad at Usyk. I don't hate the player, just the games. Miller confessed and Dora the explorer is looking for Whytes B sample. For Spong, the reports come out a week later and Spong is clean. They didn't do that for Miller, Whyte, or anybody else I ever heard of.

There really isnt much left at cruiser. He is probably chasing Wilder/AJ/Fury because just one fight with one of them, win or lose, he will make more than a few years at cruiser.

There was a straight right in the 1st round that Chazz landed that stopped Usyk in his tracks. He put his hands up then rubbed his eye. That was where he felt the HW power of a 240lbs guy. Chazz has some pop & at that point I think he realized what he will need to do. Chazz popped him a couple more times in the 4th round. He didn't land many but a few of them got Usyk's attention. If that right in the first was thrown by Wilder or Joshua Usyk may have been in trouble. The reach of Fury, AJ & Wilder could present a significant problem for Usyk. A southpaw with elite skills who will be much smaller than most of his opponents. Chris Byrd carved out a nice career beating bigger HWs & won a couple titles. It will be interesting to see if Usyk can do the same. Byrd wasn't able to beat the giants (except for when Vitali quit when leading on the cards). Klitschko beat him twice & Ibeabuchi too. Fury & Wilder present the same issues for Usyk...

Wilder will hit this guy so hard he’ll end up back in the cruiserweight division.

I like Usyk's attitude. Him moving up to heavyweight and being willing to fight a champion next is a sign of a fighter seeking greatness. I applaud his efforts.

Definitely if he lands on him , Wilder will hurt him ( that’s if he lands )
But my point being , a heavyweight with power can and will hurt him without doubt

I said the exact same thing as the sentence below from the article on an earlier post today. Haven’t seen enough to gage where Usyk is as a HW just yet. In his last (8) fights, he stopped 50% of his opponents. The fight on Saturday night was a last minute opponent who wasn’t conditioned enough.

“Little was revealed as to whether Usyk can take a heavyweight punch or how his own power will affect bigger opponents at the top level.”

As what Usyk said, he has to avoid getting hit to avoid punishment in HW. So he want to return Ali era of hit and run style. Most HW probably can accept his punch as well. So its interesting to see his coming much up against a formidable HW...
