Max even admitted that he himself flew with the hype, because he thought that Golovkin could live up to it... and Max admitted that was a mistake

    FACT: they knew his limitations
FACT: they covered his limitations well with great matchmaking

the bold above... is boxing101, and nothing new

a lot of people fell for the hype, they should have listened to Andre Ward

I think GGG won the 2nd Canelo fight as did most viewers. When Canelo only wins by 115-113 115-113 and 114-114 in Vegas he really lost. Of course GGG is at an age disadvantage. He is more than 8 years older than Canelo, 6 years older than Jacobs and 4 and one half years older than Dervy. If he was 29 and not 37 he would beat them much easier. I could see Dervy winning the fight by a point or losing the fight by a point. Dervy winning by 3 points means the judges were all off by a huge amount and they weren't. Max is the one who is way off and being very hard on GGG as always.
Y'all have to stop doing this. If you had him winning, that's fine but stop stating the majority had it the same as if it's some sort of fact.

There are a lot of ways to judge and score SD fight, but making it 8-4 means he gave Sergiy the vast majority (7/9) of disputed rounds.

eventually... Max even kept it real about Pacquiao

Max has no reason to lie... and certainly no reason to make stuff up

especially now that he is not compelled to push Golovkin as a star

when a competent knowledgeable professional admits that he made a mistake, that is telling

all I have to say is...'

                FACT: I told y'all

Golovkin will probably go down as a huge what if. You can say all you want about competition getting better, but he did start showing signs of slippage as early as 2016. I think the Golovkin from 2013, maybe 2014 and before, beats damn near anybody. His movement in his late 20s and early 30s was so much different and fluid than what he started showing mid 30s. Shame Universum ****ed him over and guys back then were dumping belts and allow to avoid but K2 should have pushed and done everything they could've to get whatever big fights they could get. Yes, some fell through and some guys didn't feel he was worth the risk as he wasn't a huge name, but still. It's pretty incredible what they accomplished in a few years but it's a shame that once the bigger and more meaningful fights started coming in, he was starting to lose a step. Anybody who can't see how much different he is physically than he was several years ago either truly can't see it or don't want to admit they do because he's still competitive with guys who are closer to prime. People keep saying only his age gets brought up when he's in close fights, which isn't true. His age has been brought up for years, in that when he started to reach that 34-35 year age range, we would possibly see some decline, as damn near every athlete experiences.

I wonder what type of avoided boxer gets called out from above and below by fighters 2 divisions lower and actually fights them. Or gets served title fights on a platter for peanuts (Lemieux) in their prime.
