I didn't see anyone attacking him or his family. More just criticisms for foolish decisions, then people defending him saying "oh he's young" or "when I was 30 I was still messing up until I had my first child"
If anything people criticizing his actions and decisions because he has a family and how lucky he is he didn't hurt anyone else or himself more seriously.
Pretty much all this right here. ^^^
You can still "like" someone while offering up some type of criticism.
We would expect someone to learn from this sort of accident, but we can't be sure they will. That's why people are saying, "I hope he learns from this."
This is what we call a "teachable moment", regardless if Spence was seriously injured or not. It's not "kicking a man when he's down", it's acknowledging the reality and truth of the matter.
I don't see anybody suggesting or focusing on his punishment, but rather recognizing how destructive certain behaviors and decisions can be. I can still wish the absolute best for a man, while admitting his behavior is not respectable.

      Y'all are funny. And pitiful.

Spence has done more in 29 years than most of you haters will in 70, so if you need to gnash your teeth, poke fun, criticize, nay-say ... and pretend to be a perfect human being who never takes risks, makes a bad decision, or has to live through a mess you created ... go ahead. Make a permanent testimony on the internet to your banality.

For those of us who care, about Spence or any other human being that finds themselves in a terrible situation and has to (hopefully) live through it ... we are pulling for him to simply recover. Life lessons, admonishments, and name-calling can come later.

Even you guys hating should realize, as fans of the sport all of these boxers are kinda "ours". Whether you love or hate em', very much like family. Fans should never cheer and jeer over these guys having real-life tragedy (even self-inflicted). It's unfortunate. It's a shame.

But hey, knuckleheads, don't let civility stop you, you gotta earn that knuckle.

Typical responses^^. If you are not all on board with unqualified support for Spence you must be haters. No, not at all. I don't cut anyone any slack (including myself) when their thoughtless actions endanger the lives of other people.

In the heart felt words of 23 year old drunken driver Andrew Thomas Gallo at his sentencing for killing Nick Adenhart and 3 of his friends, “You’re right — I am a horrible person, They had big, bright futures ahead of them. And because of me, they’re gone.”
But for the grace of god or the fates or just plain luck, there goes Spence or myself or anyone else who has ever acted so foolishly.

If you’re going to critique the guy - wait for the full details and for him to heal. A lot of you take boxing to heart. It’s entertainment and not that deep.

The guy has a family and if you don’t respect him - you have to be decent enough to respect them.

Another boxer I don’t rate is Wilder but I will never wish him any evil. It’s never that deep.

The hate on this forum is strong and a lot of you need mental help.
I know you are just trolling but what happened to Erroll Spence, Jr is a not a laughing matter sir. So quit being a ****head.

The Op is just trying to stir some shit up! He is secretly glad about what happened to Erroll Spence, Jr. In a very cunning way he is attempting to project his true feelings about the accident upon others.

If Spence was drunk he should be dealt with. I seriously doubt he goes to prison but he should have a record at least.
