Soooooo canelo shouldn’t be considered so great either, right guys???? If he barely beat an overrated GGG??? Am I right or wrong? I’m a GGG fan, but think he is at the end of his career. Won’t beat canelo but he will still give him a good fight. That’s why canelo doesn’t want the fight... well not right now lol
Serious question for those who don't like GGG/his resume

Good points...age wise I would say he was maybe a bit under prime, but fights wise you could easily say he was prime...agree about GGG as well, part of why I have always rated him so highly is because he never had a slip up against the high number of quality fighters he faced...from other fighters I have studied, that is very rare, even for other ATGsComment

Very true...it is a very nasty environment on here at times...I try to just block that stuff out but it does permeate.
Lol I don't have any poster of GGG up in my house man...I just have analyzed his career and think it is pretty clear he was/is great...some of the criticism he receives on here is odd imo, and I just pointed out here one instance where I felt the criticism doesn't seem to match the facts of the situation.
I think about 90% of people who get on GGG on here are unreasonable, so trust me I have no real intention of trying to reason with them lol...the dude has/had flaws but the hate he gets for how great he has been is odd imo.Comment

canelos legacy doesnt revolve around ggg, he is only 29 and on the right path...Soooooo canelo shouldn’t be considered so great either, right guys???? If he barely beat an overrated GGG??? I mostly rate guys based upon best wins. Losses do matter, but Hagler was dominant in his run as champ, only Duran lasted the distance, and his early losses were close, enough that the best version of Hagler from a few years later likely beats those guysComment

Fair enough, good commentComment

im not the one claiming canelo is goat at mw...
also alvarez dared to move up to fight bigger foes, ggg is the ethernal mw... last time both fighters had a rehydration weighin ggg strugled and canelo did not...Comment

None of Alvarez'a opponents was ever surprised at how small he was.
It was always the opposite.Comment

say what you will but alvarez has really challenged him self and continues to do so... and he is not the one running around bragging about how he beats anyone from 154 to 168 while never moving a finger outside the same division...
and one last thing, this thread is not about alvarez, is about golovkin and someone claiming he is goat at mw...Comment
