Lol I don't have any poster of GGG up in my house man...I just have analyzed his career and think it is pretty clear he was/is great...some of the criticism he receives on here is odd imo, and I just pointed out here one instance where I felt the criticism doesn't seem to match the facts of the situation.

I think about 90% of people who get on GGG on here are unreasonable, so trust me I have no real intention of trying to reason with them lol...the dude has/had flaws but the hate he gets for how great he has been is odd imo.
GGG is 1 of 2 things (depending to his opposition)

He is a destroyer (guys who really never stood a chance)
He's a survivor (guys who are capable of boxing)

He had 3, maybe 4, chances to show he's more than a bum beater. 2 flash knockdowns saved him from L's (Jacobs and SD).

GGG fans like to have things both ways -
His age is never mentioned when he fights no hopers.
His age is the reason why he looks vulnerable vs top guys.

GGG fans also criticize Nelo for dumb shlt.
''Nelo is fighting Kov because Kov is 100 years old and shot.''
    ''Nelo is a roiding cheater''
    ''Nelo runs too much''
''Nelo waited until GGG was a geezer''
Yeah, GGG has 10 years on Nelo....Nelo should have fought him when he was 20 ???

Fu ck GGG and his demented fans.

Nelo is 29 and is everything GGG should have been.

I can't speak for GGG fans in general...only for myself...but yeah the only 2 fights of his in his career which I felt were competitive/he looked even or losing, were against Ouma and then recently against SD...I still haven't had him losing a fight on my card, but certainly could see if someone had him losing to SD...I just can't really see the cards where he would have lost any other fights...just my 2 cents.

Naturally he will look more human vs better opposition, but I do feel he was a level-ish above Canelo and Jacobs in those fights...I certainly didn't see surviving...also my 2 cents is that a lot (like 10-15) of the guys he has KOed were solid fighters who presented him with tough matchups/challenges in a way...to dominate and KO all those guys was impressive to me.

I think his age is a factor now...I think that was pretty clear vs SD...but I have never really used it as an excuse for him...if you are fit enough to lace them up, then you will be judged accordingly...I do think it is fair to question when his prime really was, and how 'great' that version of him was...from fans to skeptics.

I think mentioning matter-of-factly that he is 37 now, I mean it just is what it is...he has aged very well for a fighter I think...but if he looks more vulnerable now, well some will say it is age, some will say it is from better competition in those fights...we all can have our opinions and are just trying to call it like we see it.

For me I have always liked that GGG has been able to get guys out of there...I think his ability to do that is due to his offensive talent and not the lack of skill of his opponents...I think he faced a lot of quality fighters in his run, but since he dominated them, I think the only recourse to hate on him is to try and slight those opponents somewhat...again just my 2 cents there.

So yeah I can only speak for myself, about Canelo as well...I think he is great...the steroid stuff, I mean yeah I think he is guilty of that but a lot/most fighters probably are imo...I give him credit for facing Kov at 175, but only if there are no weight restrictions.

I think Canelo is smart in a way to face Kov at 175...I think that fight motivates him right now, and I think that the more motivated fighter often wins the fight, and/or outperforms the opponent (relative to skill levels anyway)...Canelo (from the PED stuff to the Mexican style taunts) was REALLY motivated for GGG 2...I don't think he could rise to that level or motivation right now for fight 3...to go elsewhere right now where he is more motivated, I mean it is smart imo.

As the A side Nelo will be able to call the shots and pick the fights that suit him best...I think that helps him obviously...but how could I hate on him...even though I felt GGG won both fights, Canelo was right there in both fights, fighting well and winning parts of those fights...don't see how anyone can be 100% pro one of those fighter's talent levels, and 0% on the other guy.

You are the rare fight fan where you are not completely clouded by emotions (we all have some emo tendencies ). Fighters are who they are and no amount of romanticizing will change that.

When GGG fights top guys, it's day and night. You can tell by the way he handled those flash knockdowns. The lower level guys wouldn't make it out of the next round much less to hear the final bell.

He becomes a headhunter and prone to throwing 1 punch at a time, ignoring the body.

GGG, IMHO, wasted way too much time loitering instead of exploring.

Why, because the incoming is more worrisome vs top tier guys.

The roids stuff is puzzling. Nelo got ''popped'' and there was a judgement handed down. Some can say Nelo paid off the right people to have the story told a certain way..... conspiracies.

Anything that doesn't go the way a fan wants it to go will have nefarious, shadowy men to blame.

It's understandable, slightly, when boxers themselves become delusional, but fans ???

I expect boxers to say they're great, to hype themselves up (Hi, Khan).
But fans should know better. Who in the heck would say beating Dib (sp) is a step in the championship direction other than Khan ??? His fans, that's who.

I guess most fighters get some amount of hate due to their fans.

I’d want to believe that if the former greats were captured on screen and each fight accessible like today we would have much more credible honest opinions. Hype and overselling is part of the human condition. Most things in life don’t live up to as advertised and most things aren’t as awful as we say. We love to brag and to b*tch. I think a lot of greats would come down to earth a bit while overlooked fighters may get noticed more. Frazier looked like Marvis vs George but a stud vs Ali. I think it’s hard to get people to agree but I understand why sum sports get rid of the highest and lowest score.

It's a fact that GGG's resume is thin, and whenever he steps up in competition, his fights are shrouded in controversies and not clear cut wins. He arguably lost to jacobs, got cleanly beat by canelo in the 2nd fight, and got destroyed by derevyanchenko in a fight that is not even close, yet he somehow got a UD win. Maybe he isn't a top level fighter or pound for pound fighter like people say he is...

Hey man all we can do is call it like we see it...I think GGG was great...and wouldn't be surprised if he is more or less done now, and also wouldn't be surprised if he has another couple great fights/performances in him.

Some disagree on GGG and think he was overrated or even worse lol...it is what it is...I think some criticism of GGG is warranted and I think there are some things to hit him on that a lot of people don't actually touch on...but yeah imo the criticisms he gets are over the top...I think he was one of the best I've seen.

Others think he was over-hyped...it just is what it is lol...if the people 'hating' on him are keeping it real in their eyes, then there is no issue with me...and even if they aren't well oh well who cares lol.

But yeah I like Canelo and I don't hate his fans...they back him almost no matter what...that's what happens as fans sometimes, we are fanatical...he is definitely a great fighter though, no matter if he is getting help in some ways as the A-side, the dude has proved his level, which is very high.

Also, thank you for the compliment...I think lol

As fans, we have a responsibility to hold those we root for to the same criticisms as the next fighter. Fans do no one any good by being blindly loyal.
