He's only a kid though really, so there's time to add strings to his bow. At the moment I think Smith would win as he is probably the only top 168 fighter that is too big to get bullied by Benavidez, plus his skill set is currently far superior (think, a bigger version of Groves-Eubank Jnr). How long does it stay that way though? They could both realistically fight each other in 3 separate weight divisions before one or both retires as well.
Brute force? Seems like every pressure fighter is accused of only using brute force to win fights. He barely got outta first gear with Dirrell bc he couldn't do anything to keep him off & it wore him down so why change it up? Better watch those Porky & Gavril fights. That boy can box & counterpunch beautifully when he is forced to. Smith is a really good boxer, but is very textbook & has also gotten by on the fact that he looks like a CW in there against lesser competition(aside from a shopworn Groves). Ain't nobody ducking anybody here like most of these fanboys wanna make themselves believe. Both guys are handling their business on their respective sides before they are free to cross paths. Looking forward to this in the near future.

I agree, there's no way these lads would duck each other. What could hold it up is the promoters; at what point do does one accept their fighter being the B side on a show that's ran by the other guy?
I reckon if they fought soon Smith would win due to his greater experience, but he'd have to work hard for it. They could easily split a few victories over multiple divisions though, and Benavidez could probably improve more than Smith could.
