I don’t think he underestimated him. He just lost to a greater fighter, even at age 40. Pacquiao smelled the blood in the water and he took him apart. Outclassed him, even hit a little dance moves after a couple rounds. He was consistently out boxing and out thinking Thurman the whole fight.

Pacquiao took a couple middle rounds off and then lit him up again starting in the 10th and then finished Thurman off. He could’ve gone in for the kill and KO’d him but he already had the decision in the bag.

Pacquiao even at 40, is still worlds above the current WW boxers. Nucking futs.

Fight was good, pacquiao clearly won. If 10 years older fighter clearly beats you, that means you are just not elite. Thurman is world class, Pacquiao is elite.

An old, past his prime and part time boxer pac is still too much for the young, in prime, undefeated full time boxer.

I was shocked when he knocked Thurman down. I never thought he could beat Thurman.

I had it 6-6 with Pac edging the win due to the knockdown. Definitely neither guy looked to be in a different class than the other.

Nah, Pac took him apart the first 6 rounds. Thurman so maybe 7-9. PAC won rounds 10 & 12 decisively. So don’t know how you would give 6 to Thurman, your name must be Adelaide Byrd.

PAC completely OUTCLASSED the younger undefeated in his PRIME champ Thurman.

PAC still too much even at 40.

                  Thurman won rounds 7 & 9.
                  8 and 11 could’ve gone either way.
Either way, Thurman had maybe a MAX of 4 rounds won.
                  Pac straight schooled him.
Outclassed for the first 6 rounds.
Then pacquaio rested a bit — probably due to age— and let thurman dictate the pace of the 2nd half of the fight.
Thurman then had his moments and was landing that right hand beautifully.
Old man was wearing out and was obviously fatigued in the late rounds.. then boom, a punched to the belly.

I wouldn’t go as far as calling it outclassing. As thurman held his own and made it interesting in the second half.
Floyd-guerrero, or Floyd-mosley, or pac-diaz..will be the kinds of fight i’d be calling outclassing..
It was a great win though at 41 it’s nothing short of amazing given pac’s high mileage, fighting style and the many wars on his resume.

Outfought. Maybe is the term for me.

Its a shame Thurman was injured before and during the fight needing surgery, a two arm Thurman would have beaten Manny .

I agree Manny is Elite and also picks his opponents very carefully, as soon as Thurman looked like he lost a step Manny swooped.
