How did Usyk prove himself and Callum Smith didn't when they won the same tourney for their weight classes?
Before the tourney - Usyk didn't fight anyone. The guy just has a bunch of South African boxers on his resume. And when did South Africa become a boxing country?
And after the tourney - the only person he fought is an over-the-hill Bellew who was winning on all cards before he got knocked out.
Usyk was undisputed champion after the tournament, Smith is not.
I predict you'll get banned within the next month. Typically when a poster descends into rubbish, they don't have long left.
Did you see what the loutish clown posted? Topic is there to be discussed but decided to call his mum a dummy. And it’s not like he knows what he’s talking about.
The guy is one of these scumbag Hearn supporters and they always want everyone to rate whoever Hearn is hyping.
And why would they ban me if I’m only responding to as hominem directed at me?
Usyk struggled against Michael Hunter until the late rd burst. And he struggled against Mairis Briedis (the fight was close and in a biased country, Briedis would've won the fight based on home advantage).
Then you have the Bellew fight. Bellew is average at best at his peak and he was past his prime in that fight.
I wouldn't say he "struggled" against Hunter but I came out of that fight on HBO thinking what the hype was about. I got on board afterwards though. That being said, I can't wait to see how he'll do at HW.
Usyk I think gets a bit of a boost just for being Ukrainian. With Lomachenko and The Klitschko’s, I think Ukrainians are instant boogeymen. Like I said, just a bit of a boost. This isn’t anything major. I think it has a LOT more to do with the Cruiserweight tourney being a **** ton more stacked. Lots of 0’s at the end of people’s records throughout that whole tourney
Callum Smith could break into the North American market pretty darn good if he picks up a win against Caleb Plant and/or David Benavidez. Beating one or both of them will propel his popularity quite a bit. Both of them are currently more popular on this side of the world
Yes, you’re right. It’s because of the Klitschko dominance in the heavyweight division. Lomachenko for example is very good but he’s not as great as people made him to be. And I’m glad the noise about him has died down a bit since Campbell made him look ordinary.
Usyk is just overrated to do. He does nothing to keep me in awe apart from his workrate.
Callum Smith beats both Plant and Benavidez but PBC won’t let those fights happen.

The fight was pretty even until Usyk’s energy burst.
Sorry, I don’t join hype trains - I go with the eye test and ride my own caravan like a *****, lol.

Yeah, I agree with you: out of the Hunter fight, I wasn't THAT impressed. Same way, I'm currently not that impressed by Benavidez out of the Dirrell fight (he was kind of slow and walking forward square up).

Spot on.
I’d like to how Usyk boxes when he doesn’t have that synthetic late round rage burst.
