Canelo walks around at 190, of course he’s going to keep moving up. He’s closing in on 30 that’s why he’s been jumping up several weight classes, it’s hard to shed weight as you get older. The fact that ggg can still make 160 at 37 without looking gaunt is a testament to him fighting at his natural weight.Comment

Stopped reading here. You don’t have a clue about weighins for how fighters looked. Canelo is a great boxer but I’m not going to say he looked good at 152 or 154 ffs, especially when he fought Smith. When you’re getting huge paydays it’s rather practical to fight the water challenge at this stage of his career.
What a waste of talent. Perhaps the best fighter behind a jab with impressive defense yet he doesn’t want to do that at 168?
Put yourself in a fighter’s position. When your trade has had guys moving in weights for challenges do you just rely on your comfort zone? 154-168 was easy meant what?
At this stage Canelo Can fight at any demanding weight for 160-175. So why doesn’t Golovkin call out Canelo at 168? GGG wouldn’t be gaunt at weigh-in. Or do you think that GGG looks healthy?
The same thing happens at 168 (those fighters should realistically fight at 175 or above) and he would be significantly smaller fighter going against those guys.
It is rare we see fighters that don’t cut. Floyd and Pacquiao are rare. Look at Spence... He should be fighting at 160 going by his “natural” weight, but he makes 147 on scales and I have no issues with that. I personally don’t care how fighter looks at scales as long as expert doctors say it is healthy and fighters willingly do that.
I have zero doubt that Golovkin would fight Canelo at 160, 168, 175 or 200...
I agree Golovkin is somewhat waste of talent. But he did well taking into account that his best years were spent chasing Sturm and fighting in Germany. By the time he became “a name” he was past his prime. If he was American or British he would have done much better.Last edited by Simurgh; 10-05-2019, 02:06 PM.Comment

I’m sure a promoter knows his fighters weight... I think you might be delusional. Also why do you keep referring to your weight as if it has any bearing on anyone else? Do you have the same frame and body type? I’ve been in the ring with guys that are seemingly the same size as me but are 15-20 pounds more. People are just built differentlyComment
