Same lame and naive excuses. This dribble has been said since his pre Lemeiux HBO days. Jesus Christ mate, “if it makes sense.” These are the types of posts where real boxing fans got nauseated with GGG fellowship

Then again, you're not really equipped to.
There was no 168 division for Hagler. Didn't think that through did you?

This is an important fight with many variable at hand. We need to see how Canelo looks at his highest weight. In theory Canelo will be at optimal level since he won’t need to drain like before. However, he’s fighting a serious ****er at a higher weight so it’s hard to determine where he should be even after this fight, win or lose.

And regarding Hagler. Different eras. A fit Hagler, walk around weight is lighter than GGG. GGG walls around 190lbs on the off season since he’s no longer a gym rat as his HBO days. There was also same day weigh ins in Haglers time. GGG looked drained last night, there’s no way he’s a “natural Middleweight.”

Hagler was a small middleweight even in those days. Marvin is smaller than Canelo and smaller than the top junior middleweights fighting today. Those past fighters weighed in the day of the fight.

At this stage of his career it could be about money or maybe legacy.
There is no many fights at 168 that are bigger than those he can have at 160. He has bigger advantage at 160 (as that is his natural weight). People who don’t like him or his fights certainly won’t like him whether he fights at 160 or 168.

Smith is a nice fight, but Smith is not a huge international name. Gennady was chasing Canelo for the last 2 years. That is probably not happening so nothing wrong with him saying he can flow between 160 and 168 chasing the biggest fights.

What fight is a a blockbuster at 168 he should take?

GGG needs to retire he is only fighting now because he wants a third fight with Canelo. He doesn't want to leave 160 because its his "comfort zone" get out of here any real champion will challenge himself. He should fight Benevidez or Plant even Saunders. If he stays at 160 he should fight Charlo or Andrade at least!!

*If it makes sense" is code for if he thinks its a easy fight. Kell Brook moved up two weight divisions to fight GGG but GGG can't move up one division period. He's not looking to really challenge himself at this stage of his career.

Stopped reading here. You don’t have a clue about weighins for how fighters looked. Canelo is a great boxer but I’m not going to say he looked good at 152 or 154 ffs, especially when he fought Smith. When you’re getting huge paydays it’s rather practical to fight the water challenge at this stage of his career.

What a waste of talent. Perhaps the best fighter behind a jab with impressive defense yet he doesn’t want to do that at 168?

Put yourself in a fighter’s position. When your trade has had guys moving in weights for challenges do you just rely on your comfort zone? 154-168 was easy meant what?

At this stage Canelo Can fight at any demanding weight for 160-175. So why doesn’t Golovkin call out Canelo at 168? GGG wouldn’t be gaunt at weigh-in. Or do you think that GGG looks healthy?
