Luis Ortiz Is Guaranteed At Least $7 Million For Wilder's Rematch

According to Mike Coppinger Luis Ortiz is guaranteed in an excess of $7 mil for the Deontay Wilder rematch.

Haters eat your hearts out! Wilder did it again. He whooped and beat Anthony Joshua to the punch. Joshua was offering Ruiz $5 mil while Wilder is offering $7 Mil. So Team Ortiz was wise to turn down Matchroom's offer. Now what do you Deontay Wilder haters have to say for yourselves? Other than he is a lot smarter than you think

Boxing purses are like the housing bubble. Eventually the bubble will burst and these guys will find out how much they're really worth.

Wilder probably took less money for Ortiz to get that purse.

      That is very resepectable.

Where does he say he's guaranteed 7+ mil? That could be just his opinion what he'll make. The fight isn't going to do well at all, which is why Showtime turned it down.

Wilder is heading to PPV, with what is looking like a $20m nut he's going to need to cover (with the UK TV, the Las Vegas live event, and US PPV as the likely big revenue streams.

We'll see how it goes in November

If this sells around 250,000 PPVs... That's total revenue of 19M, let's say the live gate adds another generous 2.5M. Estimated 21.5M dollars to split between Wilder, Luis Ortiz, the system operators (Dish, DirecTV, Comcast), and then Fox... There is no way in hell this PPV is going to make them any money.

It's mind boggling that Luis Ortiz's purse was 500k in the first fight, he gets knocked out and now commands 14 times his original purse. It certainly looks like a bubble.

                  Um...but it doesn't say he's guaranteed that?

Had Ortiz taken the Joshua fight and been the one to KO Joshua, He would have already pocketed the $5 million (or better, assuming negotiations would have continued), and he would be making another $10-15 million for the rematch.

So had Ortiz took the AJ fight, he would have made close to $20 million for 2019.

But yeah, $7 million is MUCH better.........lol

oops, I forgot that Haymon will pay him another $50 million on the side in secret money, so I guess the $7 million was indeed smarter.......smh
