But this is the first I read that they were paying fighters in DAZN equity, that does not look good at all. It had to have been in the contract they signed that they could do that.
If they’re paying in equity that’s very worrying. What happens if the stock falls and people attempt to cash in?

Fighters aren’t exactly long term employees, so are they willing to invest in the DAZN project long term? I doubt it...

No they aren’t lol. They get paid a certain percentage of the nba revenue. Golovkin isn’t bringing in 20 million

The only explanation is these are the racist politics in boxing used against Mexican Fighter's.

Lol zero sense. They are overpaying him, thats is all.

There is a thing called popularity, like it or not, that is what drives people's money into these fights.

Why would he want to kill DAZN when he is investing his money into them. The reason theses guys including Canelo are getting these huge paydays is because DAZN was on a crazy spending spree. If they were around when he was fighting he would have made out OK.

Im all for top fighters making all they can, and SD is a top 5ish middle. That being said im REALLY surprised he is making 5.2 mil for this fight. I also REALLY hate getting into the different platforms and who is best or who is not, but this does look like they wayyy overpaid SD. They could make 2 "fight of the year" type fights with just the 5.2 mil he is getting in the smaller and lesser paid divisions.

It’s crazy how overpaid fighters are nowadays but more to them i guess.

As big as Delahoya was, he made like 10 million dollars for a superfight with Vargas and that was considered as a huge purse.
