Do you actually have a link for that or you just talking out your ass?
Lmfao doesnt even make sense. Why would they turn down more money and a chance to fight the bigger named guy? Haha

Well, I mean they will have to spend big on certain fighters, but they won't be throwing around a million to Farmer to fight on a UC when he has no fan base at all. I think that is what he was trying to say.
Ah I see, thought that was the first fight of the deal.

Farmer is another guy who’s being crazily overpaid, Hearn in particular invested so poorly in guys like Farmer, Hooker, Andrade. The whole DAZN boxing project was very rushed IMO, they just signed whoever was available instead of signing fighters strategically.

I actually hope it works out cause the more boxing on TV the better for fighters, fans etc. I’m very skeptical though.

I think boxing is here to stay on DAZN. It's just they may adjust the amount of money they spend on it. Like KSI/Paul will attract more subscribers than ANYONE else on DAZN, minus possibly Canelo. Like what is the point of spending hundreds of millions of dollars on boxing when only one or two fighters bring in subscribers?

Well, the initial plan wasn't to sign guys like Andrade/Farmer/Hooker. Hearn was after the likes of Thurman/Tank/Charlos/Spence/Broner/etc. When he got shut down, he moved to plan B.

lol best post I've seen in months

I cannot believe they are paying Derevyanchenko $5.2!!! Absolutely nauseating.

"$7.5M in DAZN parent company equity"

lol WTF, they giving him shares in that garbage company, that is going to tank. That is a really bad sign, that means they dont have the cash on hand to pay him. I would be pissed, what are you going to do with $7.5 million in DAZN? Who would you even sell it to, who would want to buy it? Its not exactly liquid.

They might have to keep spending like that though. Say they signed a massive name next year, they’re not going to take any less than the other big names are earning. It reminds me of the WCW wage structure and they eventually went under.

I think it’s going to be a lot harder to recoup money with no PPV upside, on DAZN the mega fights are ostensibly the same price as the minor fights. How many guys subscribing to watch Canelo one month will continue to subscribe the next month?

They only release as much as they want to on these deals, so its hard to know everything.

But this is the first I read that they were paying fighters in DAZN equity, that does not look good at all. It had to have been in the contract they signed that they could do that.

But the 100M contract line is BS. DAZN has never confirmed that amount. He's getting 15M a fight with reports that number jumps up 10 or 15M if he fights Canelo. There was also GGG himself on the day he signed saying he doesn't even know if he will fight all 6 fights and DAZN hasn't even stated that GGG is guaranteed money for all 6 fights. Meanwhile when Canelo signed DAZN themselves verified the 365M deal themselves. They stayed silent on GGG because like always GGG is butt hurt about Canelo and didn't want people to know all those details that show Canelo makes drastically more money and that GGG's contract is tied to Canelo to max out on that deal. That's why they (GGG) leaked the equity lie which Hearn denied and DAZN have never confirmed to be true. GGG camp leaked that he is making 100M when he really isn't especially if Canelo refuses to ever fight him again. He's getting 15M and who knows if those back end fights are even guaranteed for any amount.

That tweet is from February though.

That doesnt mean it couldnt have changed for this fight.

People tend to forget how much value there is in fight footage libraries. Arum still makes a mint off Ali fights. I went to their offices once to pick up tapes for HBO in the late 90s when I was a courier, them people have/had a massive video operation at the time. Dazn doesn’t have those fights yet but they will in time.
