"Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix reported Thursday morning that negotiations for their third fight have stalled largely due to Golovkin’s reluctance to face Alvarez in Las Vegas for a third time. The former middleweight champion made it clear in the aftermath of his fourth-round knockout of Steve Rolls on June 8 that he wants their third fight to take place elsewhere.

According to Mannix, also a commentator for DAZN, promoter Oscar De La Hoya will start looking at other opponents for Alvarez’s next fight if they can’t come to a resolution by Friday."

I can only imagine his list of demands if he claims the belt vs Chenko as he's expected to.
    Exactly

Ggg is the biggest diva of them all

Canelo told DAZN he is fighting Kovalev not the other way around. He mentioned Kovalev last Dec and again during promo for Jacobs fight. This is the fight he wanted and he refused to fight again until he got it, and here he is with the fight he always wanted. Meanwhile team GGG sounds bitter because has he got the fight he wanted? Nope and he's stuck fighting this weekend where there is no hype and nobody cares about it and having to talk about canelo. Canelo not only beat GGG, broke his face and beat him at his own game Mexican Style. Canelo has the win already gave him 1 rematch while GGG has...excuses. GGG's contract is dependent on Canelo he get's paid 15M and well more only if he fights Canelo that's why he's begging because he can't get that money without fighting Canelo.

Meanwhile Canelo's contract has no mention of GGG and is guaranteed for more then double what GGG makes, 35M regardless who he fights. That's what this is about Canelo beat him in the ring and now refusing to let Mr Mexican Style and Mr 154 or 168 fraud eat off of him anymore. Canelo owns GGG's soul and calls the shots not GGG and it burns him. Make your own legacy stop begging canelo for a handout.

The problem is compounded because Canelo refused to rematch Golovkin. They were foolish to pay Canelo that kind of money and without a clause that he has to fight specific guys. They may break even on it but it's going to take a very long time. Their only hope for a reasonable return on investment is to sign other solid fighters at lower rates and put on competitive fights that will draw subs.
That’s why they told Canelo he has to take $5,000,000 less if he fights Andrade. Which was pretty much a done deal if Kov. Lost to Yarde.

Anyone know if Sergiy turned down the Canelo fight because he wanted more then the $7.5 million offered??? He’s only getting $4 million for GGG??? Which still is a GOOD amount he’ll never make again...Unless he beats ggg. He won’t get Canelo losing to ggg.

GGG is getting $15 million for this fight. $7.5 million cash and 7.5 million DAZN parent equity???? What does that even mean?

the first report I heard was...

Derevyanchenko refused $5.5m from Canelo... and accepted $5.5m from Golovkin

                  which is smart as fcuk

they took the easiest fight... which is the option that will give them their best chance to land BOTH paydays

then I heard that Derevyanchenko is getting paid $4m for Golovkin

                  no idea... ?

but yesterday, Derevyanchenko's manager insisted that Sergey will "net" more for Golovkin then he would for Canelo... which is OBVIOUSLY deceptive information

no idea why his manager needed to include the term "net"... insinuating that there would be more deductibles coming from the $5m that Canelo paid him... which doesn't really make sense, their outgoings should be the same

not really interested in money... but I do not believe that any 100% "truths" have been harmed in the telling of that story

Seems they all played themselves. DAZN enticed GGG by promising a Canelo’s fight they couldn’t deliver. Overpayed him based on that as well.
GGG cashes himself out thinking he would get the 3rd ass whipping he’s been pining for. Turns out his deal was partial equity in DAZN vs straight cash.

Interesting! It is hard to sort out without access to the financial records and the specifics of Golovkin's contract with DAZN, but we do know the following. Perform Group is the parent company of DAZN. It is not a publically traded company so equity holders cannot make money from any stock market price increases but do share in the profits of the company if the company makes any profits. I have not found the current income, but in 2013 the Perform Group had a net income of 4.6 million Pounds -- about $5.2 million dollars. I don't know the total amount of equity, but I would think that Golovkin's $7.5 million represents a tiny fraction of the total. I think it is safe to say that Golovkin's $7.5 mill in Perform Group equity will translate into $7.5 million in cash anytime soon. But again, without additional information, this is just a guess
