  • Comments Thread For: Loeffler: We Thought DAZN Pact Would Make Canelo Deal Easier

New York - It's hard not to bring up Canelo Alvarez (52-1-2, 35 KO's) when Gennadiy Golovkin (39-1-1, 35 KO's) is fighting - and vice-versa. Golovkin has a very tough opponent in front of him in Sergiy Derevyanchenko (13-1, 10 KO's), this Saturday night, as the two battle it out for the vacant IBF middleweight title that was stripped from Canelo.

They get fooled by DAZN. But Canelo is right in not giving him the 3rd fight coz ggg is after the money only and been playing safe. Upcoming fight somehow will show the reality in ggg...

This that same ol bs from team ggg.. they used canelo to get that deal with DAZN. That’s why they waited for canelo to sign a deal so they can go follow him and get the best deal they could... I don’t blame him that’s the right move but now this bs from tommy. Team bs at its finest

GGG wanted the fights with Canelo so badly, he rejected a career high payday for the first one, was perfectly willing to price himself out of a massive payday for the second (which was only salvaged a the last minute by GB who gave into his inflated demands), and he wanted third fight so badly, he was trying to dictate the location coming off a loss and with no belt.

"Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix reported Thursday morning that negotiations for their third fight have stalled largely due to Golovkin’s reluctance to face Alvarez in Las Vegas for a third time. The former middleweight champion made it clear in the aftermath of his fourth-round knockout of Steve Rolls on June 8 that he wants their third fight to take place elsewhere.

According to Mannix, also a commentator for DAZN, promoter Oscar De La Hoya will start looking at other opponents for Alvarez’s next fight if they can’t come to a resolution by Friday."

I can only imagine his list of demands if he claims the belt vs Chenko as he's expected to.

He just admitted they're following Canelo like little puppy dogs. Nobody is checking for GGG if his name isn't attached to Canelo. Can't wait to see Mexican Style November 2nd

LDBC goons. As if DAZN needs GGG vs Canelo to survive.

Since their last fight, canelo has won title at 168 and also unified at 160. GGG has done jack shiet, yet he expects a rematch? Dude, win the IBF, unified with Andrade, THEN you can plead your case for a rematch. Beating Rolls is not enough

Boxing fan's thought if Golovkin signed with DAZN , he'd stop fighting bums & start fighting the best fighter's, but boy were we wrong.

                  Andrade? Smith? NO NO!
                  Rolls? YES YES YES!

Canelo is acting like he really has a draw and win over GGG. When in actuality, he really has a loss the first time and a debatable draw/loss in the second fight. He did well in the second fight but no serious analyst who isn't biased has said Canelo clearly won the fight - most in general believe GGG won both fights. Bad judges can change perception and allow fan boys to justify ducking.

I'm not sure what Canelo proves by fighting a past his prime Kovalev whose lost - I think 2 out of his last 5 fights off the top of my head and both were stoppages - not even debatable decisions?
