I don't think he is hard to negotiate with. After all Jacobs ended up with over 40% of the purse split when they fought. Derevyanchenko is getting more than Canelo offered. Brook got the same deal Eubank was going to get until his Dad sabatoged the negotiations. The deal was done in record time. The first Canelo fight went smoothly. Derevyanchenko would have pulled the same stunt with Golovkin because Golovkin needed a dance partner to make the May date.

The reason many elite fighters become elite is because they're really hard to knock out. In the case of Mayweather, for example, it was extremely rare for anybody to hit him clean. He was slick and quick, and that's one of the reasons he *became* elite.

As a fighter's opponents get better and they reach a point where it's elites fighting elites, knockouts get rare. I will be surprised if Kovalev will be able to catch Alvarez with a clean enough shot to knock him out. GGG has -- after elite fighters dodged him for a long time -- finally moved into the ranks of fighters that are really hard to just pole axe into unconsciousness. I don't read that as a weakness. He's just fighting way better opponents. The same is true for Alvarez, too. He's not switching off the lights on his more elite opponents, either.
