I am still in shock that Porter was on a successful PPV card!In demanding to have this fight on PPV. It wasn't the best for the fans, but let's not forget that the original plan was to have this fight in August on regular FOX. It would have done great ratings but even Haymon didn't think it would have done THIS good on PPV. Spence would have been leaving some money on the table if he accepted the original offer to fight on FOX.
Now, it is clear that majority of his fights from this point on will be on PPV. How do you guys feel about that? And just looking ahead, there is a chance that he fights three times on PPV next year if he gets DSG/Pacquiao/Crawford. Heck, even the Porter rematch if he doesn't get Porter. Not sure who the last fighter was to get three fights on PPV in a year, but definitely hasn't happened much, if at all.Comment

Yeah he got it right but a TON of credit goes to FOX, they're going all in for boxing and they promote the hell out of him and his fights. Him being attached to Jerry Jones and the Cowboys is also an amazing Marketing Ploy as well. They making all the right moves and industry connections to build up his Stardom
Some running with the "He Was Exposed" Narrative but to the Casual Sport Fan, they don't see it that way, a fight like that leaves them wanting MORE! More from Spence Jr but also more for Shawn Porter as wellComment

You guys would rather pay for a Wilder fight of 80 dollars then watch it on Dazn or ESPN , that goes for any PBC fighter, it's a cult like train of thought. You guys are so geared towards Wilder , in your case you fall under passive aggressive but you are still one of them. The PPV's feature fighters we want to see fight, so we buy the PPV. The streaming services don't always feature fighters that we want to see. What is wrong with people exercising choice?
People that can afford a Mercedes can also afford a Toyota. The make a choice to buy what they want. You shouldn't have an issue with people spending their money how they want to.
Ortiz vs Wilder is a great over priced PP V no one asked for. I'm sure you'll be over excited to shell out the doe when it could have been a regular Showtime fight , who needs that right ? HaLast edited by REDEEMER; 10-03-2019, 04:31 AM.Comment
