Although I do have him winning the first one 8-4, that second one was really close and he should’ve made sure get got a couple knockdowns at least to ensure his victory of Canelo. But he didn’t.

And now Canelo is being smart and not giving him another shot.
So it's GGG's fault that he got robbed of the win he earned and deserved?

My guess its GGG's way of throwing a tantrum because no way in hell did he want to take this fight. So he is refusing to participate in promoting it.

That's a shortsighted view. DAZN is a worldwide platform, and GGG has many fans in Europe and Asia. Even in countries where DAZN isn't active, I presume they will be getting money from license fees for Golovkin's fights because of their partnership with GGG Promotions.

This a great matchup, one of the best that could be made in the MW division. If GGG wins and picks up a MW title again, and especially if he looks good doing it, Canelo will come under a lot of pressure from DAZN to stop running and give them the fight they want for the ridiculous amount of money they are paying him.

The problem is DAZN leadership knows sh** about how fights get made in boxing. You can't strong arm boxers into fighting each other, the best you can do is make the next best available fight/fights and in time the best will fight each other. DAZN trying to force specific fights only antagonized their top star.

They need to just make solid entertaining fights to establish their reputation and in the long run it will work. But, DAZN executives have the same wrong headed attitude as do most corporate executives and that is only caring about the short term, or this quarterly earnings, etc. They have no patience and no long term strategy or plan.

No Abel Sanchez. If Abel were still promoting/training him there would've been about 5 articles about the fight because he gave reporters good interviews.

is a decent fight, but a fight no one was asking for since dervy lost to jacobs, still very little promotion from dazn here...

I think a lot of you have good points for the lack of promotion. All I have seen is a YouTube post about GGG having a new style lol.

With the fighters and promoters being prepaid, I don't think they have any incentive to promote the fight. This kind of proves that DAZN's model doesn't work. If every one got paid depending on the ppv numbers then of course everyone will be gunning to promote.

I almost forgot until I looked at the boxing schedule and was like oh yeahhhhhhhh

All real boxing fans should be watching. It’s a high level fight between two top 5 guys in their weight class. You don’t get that every week
