Hall of fame lost lots of credibility when they put in a fictional character in there!

I don’t give a fûçk how many boxers the Rocky movie inspired, a fictional character should never be in the hall of fame of a professional sport!

I mean for fûçks sake, you don’t see got damn Emilio Esteves from the Mighty Ducks in the Hockey hall of fame or Bugs Bunny from Space Jam in the NBA hall of fame!

At this point, I’m not surprised who makes it in anymore but they need to rid Rocky outta there if they want restore legitimacy to the boxing Hall of Fame!

WBC (twice), IBF and WBA champion. That's a very impressive career by anyone's standards.

WBA was the regular title. Ward was the actual champion at the time. That crap doesn’t count. He’s had a good career no doubt. Two time champ. Huge fights with Groves. He just hasn’t had a hall of fame career to me. 1 division champ, which is cool, but he was never the best fighter in his own division. Hall of fame is for great fighters. That he is not.

Calzaghe deserves entrance. He was the man at 168 for a long time. Froch ? No.

There are some good names there. You do have a point. Abaraham was a good win. Bute was a defining win. Pascal was a great win.

          Kessler was done done.
          Taylor.... come on man
          Gelncoffe ? No sir.

He just was never the top guy in his division, and he only won titles in that single division. That isn’t great. I think an argument can be made that most of the other fighters on this list were multi division champs and the best fighter in one of those divisions at one point. I won’t pretend like I know who Vuyani Bungu is. But the rest of those guys were at the top of their divisions at one point, including Tim Bradley at 140. It was a two man race at 140 w Khan and Bradley, and Bradley beat Lamont while Khan lost to him and proceeded to get stopped by Danny in his next fight.

Should take more than being the second or third best guy in your division your entire career in order to sit amongst the boxing Gods.

These rule changes are terrible along with unnecessary. Might as well be like the ridiculous UFC and WWE hall of fames.

I agree with what you're saying, if the classification for getting into the hall of fame is for great fighters. But the bar has clearly been lowered. When you compare who froch has faced and beaten to other hall of famers like Gatti and Naz, a strong argument can be made for him.

As noted in the latest Ring magazine, I think it's about time to let some women in. Rijker and my avatar are 2 that need to be there. I say Laila too though I have no respect for that woman and her cherry picked career living off her dad's name.

Yea man. Seems like boxing is going to regret letting Gatti in.

I don't like it. Should weight 5 years to enter. Ward or Bradley can make it, but are still young enough to make a comeback. I rather it be a 5 year wait, which would make it less likely that the fighter comes out of retirement. Let the George Foreman accomplishment be a feat no other fighter can duplicate.

Speaking of George Foreman. He retired in 1977 and came back in 1987. He didn't make the HOF after his first stint in boxing although he was dominant. He retired again in 1997 and didn't make the Hall of Fame until 2004. 25 years after he turned pro.
