The only things that stopped Wilder from dropping in the 7th against Ortiz were his locked knees and the ropes against his back. And he can't question the extra time the ref gave Fury in their fight without also questioning the extra time he himself was given, at the start of the 8th against Ortiz.

If Wilder dropped his guard and let Ortiz hit him cleanly on the chin, Ortiz would have stopped him as well.
But Wilder never fell, and why would he drop his gloves and just let Ortiz hit him?

Wilder looks the same way when he is punching

So what is the reason for the rematch then? No one asked for it...

The New York State Athletic State commission says otherwise. Its rules, regulations and constitution says that both the doctors and the referee made the right call.

Remember that Deontay Wilder sustained a lot of punishment in that previous round. So the doctors wanted to ensure if he was alright because if he wasn't or couldn't answer their questions properly, then they had every right to stop that fight.

This rule was implemented because of the Magomed Abdusalamov incident with his fight against Mike Perez. In that fight the doctors failed to do their jobs properly by not having Abdusalamov cleared and checked out for neurological symptoms.

He checked his own self into the hospital where the doctors discovered that he suffered a large blood clot on his brain. Subsequently the state of New York agreed to pay $22 mil to his family.

So now the NYSAC are forced to err on the side of caution to ensure that a tragedy like that never occurs again.

I can't believe y'all little girls are still crying because Luis failed to even drop the man. Yeah, Wilder got reeeaaal lucky, standing there, on his feet. Must have been seconds from being KO'd. Just a little more and for sure.

stfu, you're just as bad as ever little ***** who cried about Tyson's count and Kursher's nuts.

It's boxing, if the ref steps in guess what homie? Your Ring Generalship and control of the fight isn't there. If the ref doesn't get to ten guess what? It ain't no KO. If the ref doesn't call low blows it's time to his your opponent in the ****, not time to cry like a *****.

Y'all a bunch of powderpuff tinkerbells who can't let **** go for **** all, even in a sport where digression and letting **** go is ****ing codified. Just like womurnz do.

This fight is just as pointless as Fury Wallin. Hope Ortiz gets lucky. So tired of these 2 dipshi-ts, Fury & Wilder.

In a perfect world, Ortiz Sparks Wilder, Andy repeats against AJ & then Andy & Luis fight for all the marbles.

That actually would be a GREAT fight stylistically

Idk why y’all keep saying that lie he didn’t buy any extra time the nysac check fighters once the new round starts if a fighter takes to many unanswered punches.... every since the boxer was left in a vegetative state and they was sued for millions of dollars along with roc nation for negligent. They did the same for arreola/kownacki just recently wilder had nothing to do with ring side doctor checking him out, it’s only one guy who can call they own timeout in hw division you know the guy that pulls his tape off his own gloves
