What constitutes a 'robbery'?

How did you score the fight? I gave Porter 1,4 and then I think 7,9,10 and 12...I could see getting him 6 rounds but not really 7...the right man won imo...I think Porter's rounds that he won were close, that I felt he edged clearly but closely...Spence was in almost every round but it was a competitive fight.I score the fight careful and as fairly as I can. My score is the only score that matters to me not anybody else's score. If the score of the fight is within 2 points of how I scored it either way I accept that. If the official score of the fight is 3 points off of my score iit's a bad score but not yet a robbery, If the fight score is 4 points of of mine it is getting into robbery country and 5 points off is a flat out robbery. Let's say I score the fight a 114 to 114 draw and a judge scores it for one guy 118 to 110 then to me that is a robbery. I thought Spence won most of the rounds by landing more and better punches in most rounds plus he scored the knockdown. No way in hell could I give Porter 6 rounds. The punch counters said Spence outlanded Porter 222 punches to 170 punches. That is a lot more punches. Spence landed more punches and power punches in 10 of the 12 rounds. I thought the two scores of 116 to 111 were a bit generous to Porter and the judge who scored it 115 to 113 for Porter robbed Spence. It should have been a clear UD for Spence in my opinion. Sometimes when a big underdog puts up a better fight than expected people start giving him rounds that were close but that he lost.
8 rounds for Porter is a 'robbery' card imo...you think 116-111 was generous to Porter? That's 8-4 Spence.Comment

Yep...
I'll have to watch those...
Yes the guy below you is a great example of extreme bias...
I honestly can't believe anyone would try and say Canelo won 5 clear rounds in the first fight...or the second fight...I can't find one clear round he won in either fight tbh...GGG's workrate and jab/scoring are just too consistent and Canelo got outlanded almost every roundyea, guys who call the Canelo/Golovkin fights a robbery... are smart
GGG CLEARLY won 5 rounds in the first fight... CLEARLY !!
nobody can dispute the 5 rounds that GGG won...
many/most of the other 7 rounds... were nip-n-tuck... very close... and very difficult to score... so awarding ALL of those 7 rounds to Nelo, and refusing to consider the possibility that GGG may have edged one of those very close rounds... is ridiculous fanboy whining
and the result of the rematch was clear... the guy who scored a draw in the first fight was better... and his opponent was worse
no robbery there either
fanboys simply whine and cry when they don't get their way... busily creating corny threads attempting to convince everybody that they are unbiased
Outside of round 6 in fight 2, Canelo had no numerical advantage (according to compubox, which I felt got both of those fights pretty right as far as punch stats) more than 1 or 2 punches...and only won 4 total rounds by punch numbers...the other 3 rounds by 2, 2 and 1.
And round 6 I remember watching and being surprised HBO's punch numbers were as high for Nelo as they were...I had that round very close punch stat wise and competitiveness wise, and I usually shade it to GGG I believe...always have GGG up 4-2 after 6.
You are a prime example imo of a guy who lets his personal biases severely impact his scoring of fights...you make some decent points on boxing when you aren't so emotionally invested, but honestly man you turn into a sick person when you let your emotions get in the way of what happens in the ring.
Anyone touting scorecards in a Nelo fight...I mean come on man...let's be real here for a bit...and yeah anyone who says Canelo deserved 7 rounds in either fight is just seeing what they desperately want to see imo...to not credit GGG for all the work he did in those 2 fights is just very very biased...hard to find a clear round for Nelo in either fight...and GGG had 5 clear ones in each fight.
Fight 1...GGG was easily up 4-2 after 6...and won 7 8 and 9 clean...that's 7-2 and the last few were close.
Fight 2...GGG won 4,5,9,10,11 clean...just easy wins for him imo...not really sure how anyone can see those for Nelo unless they are giving him clear GGG rounds/all the close rounds.
Btw you don't score fights based on 'who was better' in the rematch lol...you score round by round bro.
In any event, please work on the language in my threads man...you can make some decent points from time to time but you get really emotional sometimes and can get a bit nasty and it just kind of ruins the good dialogue that comes on here...hope you are doing well my friend!Comment

We can hope...
Yeah I mean I just think generally anything more than a 2 round swing from my card is a 'robbery' usually...I just feel most fights aren't that tough to judge...and have about half close rounds and half clear rounds...even if you swing the close rounds the other way than me, we should be in the same ballpark.
And I think most people generally know what the score should be throughout a fight...so the numbers end up about the same if guys are scoring objectively.
There are some fights that are tough to score...but generally those are ones with a lot of close rounds, so I feel those should more or less be split...so even those end up becoming easy to score in a way.Comment

Also note the crowd's reaction and Porter's facial expression last night immediately once the decision was announced
Neither of their responses suggested the decision wasn't fair
Audience usually protests with boos in the case of bad decisions

To be honest I always watch fights on mute when I want to score them...but Porter seemed content that he battled hard but also seemed to know he 'lost'...but yeah I don't think it would have been a 'clear' win for Porter.
That is probably 1 criteria for a robbery...was it a 'clear' win...there can still be other types of robberies imo too...like when one fighter (star/prospect/home fighter) will always get the rounds he needs to win...could be a close fight but if the cards are filled out ahead of time, that is another type of robbery imo.Comment

Yeah it's always a bit strange looking at how some score fights...and then you come across their other posts and they are big fans of the guy they have winning, or really hate the guy who they have losing...just coincidence I guess.
I never watched that one...I do feel it is very hard to have 8-10 clear rounds for 1 guy in a 12 round fight between 2 top guys..but I have heard rumors about that fight so not saying you are wrong about the robbery designation.
Generally I feel there are about half clear rounds and half close rounds in a fight at the top level...imo a robbery is when the close rounds are like 5-1 or so in favor or one guy...and then the other guy gets the other six close rounds, or even one of the other guy's clear rounds, and gets the W.
I'll have to check that one out...worst one I have ever seen live was on Kov-Ward 1 undercard...Perez vs Hooker
fk you're a knob
