GGG ruined Brook's career.
How broken was Kell Brook when Spence fought him?

Brook looked very game against Spence. I was impressed with his fighting spirit, and with his twitchy speed in close quarters.
But his work didn't have much consequence. He landed on Spence, and stung him a little, but the shots weren't powerful enough to slow him down or back him off.
Not sure why not. Probably he ran out of steam, which as other posters have noted, could be from coming back down in weight, or possibly from knowing in his heart that he CAN be damaged.
Anyway, I liked Brook's activity, but it didn't deliver enough pain to Spence, who is a big, strong welter for sure.Last edited by Joe Beamish; 09-27-2019, 11:29 AM.Comment

Some had him winning in the Spence fight until it got stopped.
I thought that Brook gave a good account of himself but got broken down by the better fighter.Comment

I had Brook ahead until Spence headbutted him and ****ed his other eye (it was a clash tho fair enough), Brook didn't look very broken until that point at all.
Made Spence look pretty ordinary.

Brook always struggled to make 147, nevermind coming off a fight at 160 and taking a beating from GGG.
Brook at his best may have been too much for Spence then. Spence is lucky he caught Brook when he did. That said, Spence still needs credit for the win because even that version of Brook would’ve beaten most welterweights.
I don’t think we ever got to see the best of Brook. He never really got momentum after beating Porter because of the stabbing and being given rubbish mandatories by the IBF, then once he got those mandatories out of the way, he got put in with GGG at Middleweight.
I think Brook would’ve been a real force at welterweight and 154 if not for those incidents and then moving up to fight GGG.Comment
