Haters will cry ''he ran'' (ignoring all of the punches he landed).

Unemotional, unbiased fight fans will credit him for having a plethora of tools.

Defense or smart boxing isn’t allowed for Canelo. You know this

I remember all the comments from Mexican fans calling Abel a dumbass because Sanchez said on ESPN Deportes “if he stands still, to see if he can take the punches, give the fans what they want...”

But it’s perfectly normal for GGG to have thrown a thousand jabs with 70% of them missing as to not waste power punching stamina towards the late rounds. We know Team GGG we’re going to dupe the public because they were given benefit of doubt since many felt GGG was the protagonist

Nah because it wasn't okay or enough for Lara when he fought Canelo. Even though he was much more accurate, made Canelo miss a ton and had the more eye catching punches.

He may not have a choice because Kovalev at his best, keeps his opponents on the outside, by forcing them to fight off the back foot by walking them down with his telephone pole like jab.

I’d say “he’s being ******”, distance isn’t gonna be any kind of friend to Canelo. Canelo needs to get inside or die trying.

Lara got phucked up to the body and in moments he literally was running with his back to canelo, add that to the fact that he doesn’t sell for sh.it... of course they picked canelo to win, Vegas ain’t ******. Everyone including Lara knew all this, Lara only has himself to blame for his performance. Kovalev has to understand what’s stacked against him too! He is on his way out, canelo is the star boxer sub 30, Kovalev is the one that has to win decisively, if it’s close.. it’ll go to the star... boxing has always been like this, this isn’t exclusive to canelo, if you or anyone else doesn’t like it... then don’t watch boxing.

He can do anything he wants as long as it's legal. Will it win him the fight is the question. If he goes to the ropes IMO he lessens his chances of winning. You are going to disagree judging from your posting history but his rope a dope strategy was a disaster in the Golovkin fight. I had Golovkin winning 8 to 4. In the rematch he stayed as best as he could in the center of the ring and did better. He fought a more intelligent fight in the rematch because he went with what works rather than what superficially looks impressive. Kovalev also has an excellent jab a longer reach and good ring IQ. He could pot shot him with the jab along the ropes and mix in some power shots when appropriate. Movement is always good but ducking and weaving with your back on the ropes and trying to counter a guy with a heavy punch pretty good mobility and an excellent jab is foolish. Some boxers like Mayweather are very effective with this style but Canelo isn't Mayweather. Another key to Canelo winning is negating Kovalev's jab. If he can't he's going to have a tough time beating him.
