Comments Thread For: Kovalev: Canelo Will Be Comfortable at 175 - His Natural Weight

Sergey Kovalev believes that in the long term his boxing legacy will get additional shine if he defeats Canelo lvarez this November 2 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, but in the short term he believes that a victory will allow him to become as the main candidate to be the best fighter of the year.

... Kovalev: "Many say his speed [is his best attribute], but I say that his defense is good, his abilities in general, his power, his speed, he has good leg movement, so that's why I must be ready on November 2, to get the best out of me against a good fighter..."

... Kovalev praising Canelo first?... rather than motivating himself?...

This build up is turning into a parody of how to sell a fight. Too bad, because it's a decent fight. They don't need to lie so hard to sell it.

Im interested in seeing how Canelo takes Kovalevs 175LB right hand. So far up to this point canelo has an iron chin.

As Andre Ward said, “the little man beat up the bigger man. Canelo won.”

The GGG fanboys in this thread know what it means. These same guys will say Jacobs was smaller than Canelo too. No I got a better one, the Canelo haters saying the big 168lb Champs would give Canelo problems, therefor what’s the “natural weight” of Zurdo, Smith, Benavidez... they sure as hell look about 190lbs in the ring.

Sorry if I had to smash the previous posts before me!

              WAR CANELO!

if Canelo beats Kovalev... he is, AT WORST... #3 P4P !!

and will be by far the biggest star in boxing

in truth he is likely both of those things already

but yea, he is not a LHW... he could probably finish his career at 160

I forgive you for smashing the previous posts before you

The initial posters don’t realize that Canelo doesn’t need to drain for LHW. It’s like when Marquez fought PAC weighing 143 for the Welterweight bout. In theory Kovalev is referring to “natural” as in Canelo should be extremely tip top 100% since there’s no previous days of dehydration for scale protocol.

What’s worse however is that if everyone says Kovalev has a hard time on the scales or looks drained at weigh ins but Canelo wouldn’t at this “natural weight” then what the hell was Krusher doing at LHW his whole career? Derp derp

Wouldn’t Kovalev be faster, 100%, if he were at Cruiser? Oh my bad wait, realistically Cruisers are drained Heavyweights
