    That's true, but that other criteria for what makes a better career is more superficial and seems like something the casual fan or unexperienced viewer would prefer, which doesn't make anyone a better boxer. They're just into it for the thrills, not to appreciate technique and skill; which I'm sure you're aware of and is why you also picked Vargas.

      Exactly. In terms of boxing skill its no comparison. They have one common opponent they both lost to...DLH. Gatti was battered for 5 rounds until the towel was thrown. Vargas actually looked like he could win that fight.

        Yeah, thats exactly right and precisely my point. There should be no doubt about who is the more talented boxer, and the general public's opinion should not influence that of the knowledgable boxing enthusiast.
