  • Do you rate Holyfield's FIRST win over Tyson?

Not the 'Bite Fight". I'm talking the first match in 1996 where he stopped Tyson after teeing off on him the majority of the fight. Tyson would complain of repeated headbutts, but in watching the fight, none of them appeared intentional. Tyson's peek-a-boo just kept running in when Holyfield would square up. Regardless, people thought it was a dirty win for "Real Deal". Tyson's only lost was Douglas but was on a clear and dominant (with the exception of Razor Ruddock) win streak after that loss leading up to this fight.

SO, do you rate it up there with a great win?

Personally, I was impressed with how Evan Fields fought this night, even though he likely had all kinds of steroids pulsing through his system judging by his physique. And Tyson was built like a straight tank.

It was only the Ghost of Mike Tyson. It did not mean much.

There has not been a better win, by any heavyweight since he beat Mike Tyson. 'Mike Tyson had only been beaten once at that point, he was 29 years of age and was building momentum back up in his career' I am well aware that he was not the Mike Tyson FROM team Tyson days, but he was a very dangerous and lethal heavyweight still 'Beats all of the heavyweights active today in my opinion, still fast, still technically sound, great engine also'.

Heavyweights these days seem to have poor engines, all of them.

Great america crowd support back in those days.

Tyson was throwing hands though. He caught Evan quite a few times right on the chin and at least in the first round, I thought it was going to be Spinks all over again.

Anyone not rating that win doesn't know boxing. And nitpicking who did what doesn't detract from the win either.I was a Tyson man,but the better man won and he'd tell you himself.

Huge win. No one thought Holyfield would win. He was “shot” and was a victim who was being fed to Tyson.

            I believe Holyfield was a 25-1 dog.

I feel Holyfield had a great strategy to stand his ground and bully the bully, He knew Tyson would come straight forward and was no longer elusive and would fold under pressure
