Why are people acting like Canelo-Kovalev is a bad fight?

I think a lot of the criticism is a reaction to Alvarez fans hyping the fight as David vs Goliath.

If there are none of Canelo's usual weight shenanigans and Kovalev can lay off the Vodka till after the fight, it might even have a surprise ending.

It's a good fight. If anyone thinks Canelo is jumping up 2 weight classes I think they are wrong. I think Canelo has trouble making 160 and is done with 160 forever so he might as well fight Kovalev. Canelo did not put in any type of weight draining so that is good.

They are scared of the possibility of Canelo winning a fight where he's jumping up 2 divisions and becoming a champion in another weight class. So they are trying to downplay it ahead of time.

Kovalev was nearly knocked out in his last fight, two fights away from back to back KO losses.

Canelo isn't a 168 pounder you dumbass. Never fought a legitimate name at that weight and never won a legitimate belt at 168.

Plus his last fight was at 160 , so yes he's jumping up 2 divisions.
