How is this not a cash out for Kovalev? Even in a win he's 36 years old. He's not going to see paydays like these consecutively. That being said, it's hard for me to really believe we're going to see even 75-80% of the Kovalev that Ward fought let alone having just fought in late Aug and almost being stopped. However you rate that win for Canelo is upon discretion. It's very similar to Cotto fighting Martinez where even me being a hardcore Cotto fan read between the lines, that wasn't the Martinez that beat Pavlik. It is what it is though, Kovalev signed on the dotted line, no excuses from his standpoint.

Is anyone with half an ounce of boxing IQ picking this older been ko'd twice in last 4 fights version of Kov to beat Canelo?? All writers/insiders are picking Canelo by late stoppage.....odds are 4-1 for Canelo!!!! This fight is no great risk for Canelo....just a "name"and another title on his resume.
