I got mad respect for Canelo. Alot more than most of these fanboys on here. He's fought everyone they said he wouldn't fight. Rather you thought he lost, he still took the fights. Lara, GGG, Cotto, Jacobs, Mayweather to name a few.
Someone always will be looking for a way to criticize him no matter what he does. I mean this guy aint perfect. Nevertheless he is taking advantage of the situation at this point. Kovalev was just in a grueling hard fought battle. And he's going to fight a short number of weeks later? Canelo and his team know he need the payday. And he's a name. So people are going to watch. Gotta be some people who believe Kovalev could stop him. Me? I wouldn't count on it after being in a grueling match 2 months ago.
Canelo is going to have lots of advantages. He definitely has the speed advantage and he probably has more power than kovalev at this point. Even if he dont his chin is much younger and stronger. Kovalev got stopped by Alvarez who wasnt even a big puncher, nor was Andre Ward. My opinion is Canelo is the favorite and should win. I'd respect this fight much more if Kovalev had more time off. It's just a smart play from Canelo and his team.Comment

Yea true. Career high paydays going down post-your involvement is likely to make the hate trend upwards again in a relationship that went as south as this one has.
I dont think JDJ realizes what a f#ckhead this makes him look like doe or hes too caught up in his feelings to care. GGG resume is wat it is bc Martinez and Cotto ducked him. Canelo even gave up the MW title to avoid prime GGG after he beat Cotto. GGG has taken on all comers at MW....he was scheduled to fight Pirog on Hbo b4 Pirogs career ending back injury.....Pirog destroyed Jacobs and that would have been a 50/50 fight.Comment

I would be excited to see kovalov take on beterbiev, gvodzyk, and bivol. Many of these boxing fans would be too, but since it’s canelo taking kovalov all of sudden they are not interested in seeing kovalov fight cause he’s past it. SmhComment
