Fury is a drugs cheat. He only escaped a severe ban because he had more money than the UKAD budget and could have bankrupted them so they settled on a backdated ban despite Fury being 'semi retired' and ruining himself with drugs and alcohol.

How anyone can be given any kind of title after that is beyond me! It should be a lifetime ban.

He isn't the cash cow. Joshua is still the money man of the division, even in defeat.

He is, however, a great boxer but if Wilder can combo his ass onto the canvas, then he isn't THAT good. Wilder is the worst out of the top 4 HW's.

They really want everyone to forget about that. Cheating doesn't jive with the "He's got heart" narrative.

The truth is that UKAD offered Fury a deal because, as they admitted themselves, they didn't follow their own procedure correctly by waiting 15 months to notify him of a "failed" test and wouldn't have had a leg to stand on if it had gone to court. That's why they kept stalling and getting the NADP hearing postponed.

The reason he accepted the deal and the backdated ban was to get off another charge of refusing to provide samples for another test. UKAD dropped that charge in return for Fury accepting the backdated ban without taking his case to the NAPD.

But I'm wondering why the writer "forgot" to mention that Wilder vs Fury was sold as a WBC and lineal title unification fight by PBC and Showtime, with Fury being introduced as the lineal champion.
