How Do Fighters At Lower Divisions Get Title Shots in Higher Divisions if They're Not Ranked?

Aren't champions supposedly only able to fight top 15 ranked challengers, other champions in their division, or maybe a champ within an alphabet organization moving up 1 weight class. Thinking about fights like Spence vs Garcia, GGG-Brook, Canelo-Kov etc (& I know these guys aren't the 1st & won't be the last) but what exactly is the deal on that? Is that against the rules or am I missing something?

      Because money talks.

Titles, rankings, mandatories all take a back seat when everyone involved can make more money.

If you are ranked in a lower division I think they can give you a ok like with the GGG vs Brook or Canelo vs Khan fights or they just rank you at the new division if you are moving for good.

Nope, champion vs champion guidelines are clearly posted on all four major body's websites. A champion does not have to prove anything in another division to fight a champion, never has.

Oh please, you know the answer unless you're really that naive.

People are so quick to label everything they don't understand as a conspiracy these days, they don't even attempt to get all the facts down before voicing their OPINION.

for the longest time, champions who moved up were automatically made mandatory within the same organisation

Can you post one so I have a more concise understanding of what you're saying. Cause from how it sounds is (realistically it won't happen) but Tank could fight Wilder just cause he's a champion period. As long as your a champion you can fight another champion regardless of weight class. There has to be a scenario where the person moving up 2 weight classes wasn't a champion.

I'm not being funny. I originally was going to make specific thread about fighting someone in the top 15 then I realized certain people were never ranked how did they even get the fight in the 1st. I legitimately thought I could be missing something. It can't just be about money look at Paulie and Broner that wasn't a huge big money fight but Broner moved up two weight classes to fight him.
