I'm not being funny. I originally was going to make specific thread about fighting someone in the top 15 then I realized certain people were never ranked how did they even get the fight in the 1st. I legitimately thought I could be missing something. It can't just be about money look at Paulie and Broner that wasn't a huge big money fight but Broner moved up two weight classes to fight him.
    Yes and no.

I'll post the the info, yes.

No, as you will see below the bodies don't require anything specific from the challengers per se outside of their own approval. They only have to approve of the fight. Which explains why so many fighters jump weight and go straight to a title fight through the history of sanctioned boxing while leaving a safety in place for absurdities.

Also, are we assuming Tank makes weight? I have no ****in' clue how they'd handled a blown up Tank but yeah, it's possible I guess if he made weight. Doubtful I think, but possible.

There's a whole lot more in their rules and regs in all the bodies but I can tell you now at no point will you find a mandate that says a champion has to be ranked, nor, will you find a mandate that says a champion can go straight to a champion.

In fact a few of the go out of their way to point out neither are guaranteed.
