I think Kovalev wins and you're all idiots

It's when fights like these happen that the really ****** people show themselves on here. All I'm seeing is this is a cherry pick like Kovalev is some wounded dog ready to be put down...are you kidding me? He may be past it but this is a guy that was not that long ago, one of the best fighters in the world. He hasn't got that many miles on the clock. Can Canelo win? Yes he can, but considering he just about edged out Daniel Jacob's in his last fight, I'm not seeing how anyone gets from there to Kovalev has no chance. This some Hopkins-Trindidad Sheet again.

You've got a guy that's 6"-6"1 with a good reach, made a career of using it, hits like a train, can box his ass off, against a guy that's 5"8 on a good day, absolutely unbelievable talent, but has problems moving forward, average engine(at elite level)...he may get to Kovalevs body, but I see him paying the price to get there.

Unless Kovalev gets shot overnight, doesn't make weight healthily, and/or Canelo is ped'd to the max...I just dont see this fight as anything but a pick em, if not Kovalev the fav.

Its insane the way people think it’s a “guaranteed victory”

If the odds are wide in canelos favour (which I’m hoping) and there’s no bs catchweight or rehydration clause.

I’d put (and will put) good money on kovalev out boxing canelo and making him look like a blown up middleweight.

Canelo has bitten off more than he can chew, and he will be shocked in there

Feel free to bet me all the points I have on Canelo winning straight up. KO or decision.

I agree with you, Kovalev is a very dangerous opponent for a smaller guy like Alvarez.

All the haters on here calling it a cherry pick just don't want to give Canelo any credit if he manages to pull off the win.

There's no damn way Kovalev outboxes and outpoints Canelo on the scorecards. If he wins this bout it would come by way of knockout. Which is highly unlikely to happen given Canelo's superior upper body defense.

I know you're seeing a lot of posts like that, but that's just because Canelo has a bit of a polarizing effect. I'm pretty sure you'll get several or a majority agreeing with you here, that Kovalev is NOT shot, and has a 50/50 chance - going in without a catchweight.

I just think if Canelo pulls this off, it will be something else. I can't imagine the odds staying at 7:1, 8:1 whatever they are. Like you said, there is a difference between a past prime Kova and a shot Kova. He's not shot and remains competitive and dangerous.
One thing I'll say is I would have liked to have seen more rest for Kova since the Yarde fight.

People calling this a cherry pick are not being particularly objective. At least Kovalev is a LHW that Canelo has a chance to beat. When fighters move up in weight, I don't think it best to take on an unwinnable fight. Kovalev is a big name with some miles on him and kinks in the armor.
It's the same with people wanting Lomachenko to move up and fight the #1 or #2. People will always find a negative spin if they want to...
