Wilder has only fought bums and failed at highest level against fury. If he beats fury it's only one great win. Best josh, ruiz, whyte, parker also then he will be atg

1 win against fury (who seems less and less interested in boxing now) doesn't make him ATG. who else does he have???? a 50 year old ortiz??? and what are his heavyweight accomplishments besides defending his 1 belt against mediocre opposition????? hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaah give me a break. ali will always be ATG heavyweight.

The answer is, yes he does. The Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder rivalry is what this Heavyweight era will be remembered for, and both have Elite traits. We know Wilder has the power to knock anybody out, but he needs to do it at the absolute top level (against Fury) for it to mean anything on an ATG scale. Less than 5% of this forum know much about Boxing though, so you won't get the correct answer here.

On the way definitely but ATG? It would mean he has two names on his resume (Ortiz - overhyped and overrated), and Fury (Genuine threat). If he beats a good number of HW (Miller/Whyte/Joshua/Pulev/Usyk/Parker/Hunter/kownacki) etc and more of the up and comers like Ajabga/Hrgovic/DDD etc then he surely would be in the conversation.

I think we can all agree that with Fury being the boxer and Wilder being the brawler, the chances statistically of Wilder KOing him are low, so if he pulls it off, where does it propel him?
It will certainly get him closer to the goal though.
He has many years left and many things can happen so atg status is really possible. Knock Aj, whyte and ruiz and he’s bonafide.
If Aj beats wilder and fury, then Aj becomes an Atg.
Same goes for wilder and fury. You gotta beat the other two.

ATG is a stretch, it’d be his only real top level win. I think you need more than that. Ortiz isn’t a top fighter and never has been..One win over Jennings years ago and getting knocked out twice in his only 2 big fights shows his level.
Fury dethroned Wlad and beat Wilder first time. So another win over Wilder might put him up there but ATG is a stretch because the resume isn’t that deep with talent, despite beating Wlad and Wilder. I think with a few more solid wins, Fury could be. He beat two real top guys.
As for AJ, he has yet to fight a top fighter. Wlad was a Fury leftover that was old and been out of the ring for nearly 2 years. He was finished. He has a nice list of decent heavyweights though, but lacking the real big win over a fellow top fighter.
Fury’s top level wins and AJ’s second tier wins would be an ATG resume.
Wilder has fought one former world champ in over 40 fights and really lost. The rest were C level.

King Kong Ortiz is his 10th title fight. Rematch and possibly trilogy with Fury. Undisputed fight with Ruiz. Then you have maybe eight defenses of all four belts against the likes of Kownacki, Miller, AJ, Rivas, Parker, Whyte, Hrgovic, Ajagba.
If successful, Wilder retires 52-0-1 with more consecutive title defenses than Wladimir Klitschko, Larry Holmes, Muhammad Ali, and Lennox Lewis.
